Boomerang, the video loop creator in Instagram has new effects named SloMo, Echo, Duo and user will be able to trim videos before posting. This is a big update since the launch of the loopmaker almost 5 years ago.

You can find the new tools by swiping right on Instagram. Following that, the Stories composer will open and now you should swife left from the shutter selector at the bottom of the screen.

What do the new Boomerang effects do?
SlowMo plays Boomerangs at half speed. With this effect, instead of one second, the videos will play for two seconds in each direction.
