With Apple planning to unveil its latest hardware, new Macs with its M4 are expected to be revealed on November 1. However, a recent unboxing video could have jumped the gun, showing off what may be the much-rumored M4 MacBook Pro early. We’ve seen Russian YouTuber Wylsacom post a video of a 14-inch MacBook Pro running the unannounced M4 chip. Aesthetics isn’t all it does; there’s much more under the hood, even in benchmark results.
These leaks suggest major changes from their predecessors and a spec bump, something more pedestrian than it might have been previously. So, how much truth is there behind this video?
Unconfirmed but looks fairly legitimate: a Russian YouTube channel claims to have the yet to be announced M4 MacBook Pro and gave it a full unboxing and hands-on. We’ve seen prototypes leak early but never a full retail Apple device weeks in advance. https://t.co/LYrt68ZmEn

M4 MacBook Pro specs, packaging, and the first benchmark scores
In Wylsacom’s video, the individual offers a closeup of the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro. According to the YouTuber, the packaging matches an earlier leak from September, in which the same wallpaper is on the M3 MacBook Pro models. This model includes some notable upgrades and features:
- Storage: 512GB SSD
- RAM: 16GB
- Ports:
- 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports
- 1 HDMI port
- 1 SD card slot
- MagSafe charging port
- Processor: M4 chip with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU
In fairness, this is far more notable than the base M3 MacBook Pro, which supports just two Thunderbolt 4 ports and 8GB of RAM. Rumors also indicate that the M4 MacBook Pro may bring 16GB of RAM to base models, the first for the entire MacBook line.
The Geekbench test run on the M4 MacBook Pro is one of the standout details from the video. The results were impressive:
- Single-core score: 3864
- Multi-core score: 15288
The base model M3 MacBook Pro usually gets around 3000 in single-core and 11800 in multi-core. The extra CPU cores in the M4 chip can be blamed for providing this performance boost, but they won’t be proved authentic until Apple officially reveals the device.

November 1 launch: What else is Apple hiding?
Beyond the MacBook Pro, which is scheduled to arrive later this month, Apple’s upcoming late October event will announce more than one device. It has also been reported that Apple could unveil a new M4 Mac mini alongside an updated iPad mini. The M4 Mac mini, in particular, is rumored to bring a sleeker form factor and more connectivity options, featuring:
- 5 USB Type-C ports
- Removal of USB-A ports
- Smaller, redesigned chassis
The MacBook Pro and Mac mini releases align with Apple’s yearly update cycle, and though it’s only been a year since the M3 models, the tech giant is known for keeping its flagship products fresh.
More photos of it confirmed it’s real. Apparently it is on sale in a private Facebook group lmao https://t.co/eSoXY5NHg9 pic.twitter.com/lxW9rbilSE

There have also been rumors of cool changes on the iPad mini. These include:
- A front camera repositioned to the side for better landscape mode use
- A potential upgrade to a 48MP rear camera, similar to the iPhone 16
Larger 32-inch iMac fans are also waiting to see whether the long-rumored add-on will appear at the event, but concrete news about that one has been scarce.
As these leaks may be, excitement is important to take with a grain of salt. The new devices are expected to be unveiled during Apple’s official unveiling at the end of October and will arrive on store shelves between October 31 and November 1. It remains to be seen whether Wylsacom’s unboxing video contains any truth. Meanwhile, there’s nothing for enthusiasts to do but speculate on how powerful the M4 MacBook Pro will be. Whatever Apple has in store, the tech world wants it now.
