Huawei is introducing a new type of smartphone with three folding screens. The company is expected to announce the device on September 10. Huawei’s teaser reveals a device that folds in a unique Z shape, creating excitement among viewers.
The most crucial aspect is the phone’s triple-screen arrangement. Huawei’s teaser reveals a foldable phone featuring a Z-shaped design. This hints at a 10-inch screen, larger than other foldable phones. The company hasn’t announced the phone’s name, but many think it will use the HiSilicon Kirin 9 series chipset.
The world’s first tri-fold phone is coming out
Huawei announced a new product on Weibo. Yu Chengdong, the head of consumer devices at the company, described it as their “most innovative product” yet. The upcoming event on September 10 will showcase a brand-new foldable phone.
Huawei claims to have the initial tri-fold phone, while other companies have also been investigating comparable concepts. Samsung has displayed tri-fold prototypes, but none have been made available for purchase.
People are talking about the price of Huawei’s tri-fold phone. It might cost around 35,000 RMB, or about $4,900. This is almost three times greater compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6. Huawei is not aiming to release this to the average consumer. The expensive price probably stems from the intricate tri-fold layout and the difficulties in manufacturing such a device.
Huawei is on the verge of making history with this launch. However, it is not the sole company interested in the tri-fold phone market. Tecno is in the process of creating a tri-fold phone, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2. This indicates that competition in this specific market is intensifying. Nevertheless, Huawei’s phone will be initially released in China. Global consumers may need to wait or consider alternative brands.
Currently, the cost of Huawei's tri-fold engineering prototype is over 35,000 RMB, and the company is continuously working on reducing costs. The anticipated retail price for the mass-produced model is set at 29,000 RMB($4000) pic.twitter.com/2JBvtx9IIN

Is this a good idea?
Do we really need a phone that can fold into three parts? A triple-fold phone is more intricate and prone to easily breaking, especially due to the additional hinges. Although the idea of a phone expanding into a 10-inch tablet is amazing, the cost may not justify the purchase. Individuals must determine if the increased screen size justifies the added expense and concerns over longevity.
A tri-fold phone is likely to appeal more to tech enthusiasts and luxury buyers. It’s one thing to push the boundaries of technology, but another to offer something that enhances the user experience.
Huawei’s new phone is set to make an impact in the tech world with its innovative design and top-of-the-line features. As the market for foldable devices grows, this release could be a game-changer for smartphones. However, like all emerging technologies, the true assessment will depend on consumer response.
Will the new phone appeal to the general population or will it be exclusive to wealthy individuals? As the release date approaches, individuals are eagerly observing to determine if this upcoming phone will set a new benchmark in mobile technology or simply be a costly trial.
