Get ready for a heart-stopping experience in DBD with the new Dead by Daylight 2v8 game mode, running from July 25th to August 8th. This mode features unique character abilities and a reimagined Hook system, making the game more intense than ever, and here is the first look at it:
What will Dead by Daylight 2v8 game mode be like?
In Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode, there are two killers and eight survivors in each match. This setup required Behaviour Interactive to adjust the game’s balance. Survivors now have specific classes and roles instead of perks. For example, Claudette focuses on healing, while another character handles team objectives. This encourages different strategies and better teamwork.
Killers are not left out in this strategic overhaul. They now possess team powers that enhance cooperative play. Spriggens highlighted the Wraith’s cloaking skill, which, when used near their co-killer, grants both characters the undetectable status, making them even more formidable.
Initially, the Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode will feature all survivor characters but will limit the killers to five: Wraith, Trapper, Nurse, Huntress, and Hillbilly. Each killer will bring one map from their world, offering a familiar yet revamped environment for players. These maps are notably larger and have undergone significant changes. The traditional Hook system has been replaced with cages, streamlining matches and keeping the tension high. Captured survivors will find themselves in these cages, from which allies can still rescue them, adhering to the classic three-strike rule.
While only five killers will be available at launch, Behaviour plans to expand the roster and maps, possibly even including a Dungeons and Dragons-themed map. However, for now, the revamped maps and new dynamics promise to deliver an engaging and heart-pounding experience for both new and veteran players.
With unique abilities, revamped maps, and a new rescue system, Dead by Daylight 2v8 game mode promises to be an exciting addition. Keep an eye out for more updates as the launch approaches. Prepare yourself for a new level of horror in the Fog!
