- Chromia’s MPV mainnet goes live.
- Users can start bridging ERC-20 and BEP-20 CHR tokens on the mainnet.
Chromia, the world’s first relational Layer 1 blockchain, launches its MVP mainnet, aiming to revolutionize on-chain data structures and management. The mainnet launch marks the start of the relational blockchain era and introduces native CHR tokens on the platform. According to a press release, the launch of Chromia’s mainnet will provide a more efficient way for calculations and complex data searches on the blockchain.
Terming the launch “a pivotal moment” in building decentralized applications (DApps), Henrik Hjelte, Chromia’s co-founder, believes the launch will enhance overall blockchain development and enhance the adoption of the technology.
“After years of development, we are thrilled to see the concept of relational blockchain become a reality,” Hjelte added. “The MVP Mainnet represents a significant step forward in realizing our vision.”
The mainnet launch will also allow the migration of ERC-20 and BEP-20 CHR tokens to the mainnet, establishing essential functions across the network. The native CHR token will power the blockchain allowing the payment of network hosting fees and provider payouts, among other settlements on Chromia.
The Advent of Relational Blockchain Technology
As the pioneer of relational blockchain technology, Chromia aims to revolutionize how data is structured and managed on-chain. The blockchain will enhance efficiency in complex data searches and calculations, the statement reads. Additionally, the technology eliminates the need for third-party indexing services and data availability layers, improving overall efficiency and usability.
Moreover, relational blockchains introduce a new economic model for blockchains, allowing developers to ‘lease’ resources. Simply developers and creators ‘lease’ resource containers and design revenue streams within their DApps, allowing users to enjoy a ‘gas-free’ user experience. This streamlined approach reduces friction for end users and introduces new Web3 business models.
“Chromia combines blockchain architecture with ideas from cloud computing and database theory to provide a full spectrum of tools needed to deliver an amazing end-user experience,” Alex Mizrahi, co-founder of Chromia stated. “This launch sets the stage for the future growth and development of our network, and I’m excited to see what developers can create with our technology.”
Increasing Network Activity And Blockchain Adoption
Before the mainnet launch, Chromia boasted a vibrant ecosystem made up of several decentralized sectors, from gaming to NFT marketplaces and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Some of the notable projects atop the platform include gaming DApps such as My Neighbor Alice and DAR Open Network, as well as emerging projects like Chain of Alliance and Cloudborn, and digital collectibles solution Fanzeal.
The MVP mainnet launch is expected to further spark ecosystem-wide growth as developers build and deploy DApps on the platform. As network activity increases, user growth rates are also expected to increase drastically, with more DApp clusters also launched, providing a scalable and flexible infrastructure for future growth.
In the coming weeks, Chromia will start on its Q3 roadmap goals by implementing Native Staking and Delegation, improving its bridge infrastructure, and enhancing core upgrades.
