It’s exciting and bittersweet news for fans of The Boys season 5. Prime Video’s hit superhero series The Boys will end with its fifth season.
Showrunner Eric Kripke announced this news on social media platform X. “Season 4 premiere week is a good time to announce that season five will be the final season: This was always my plan; I just had to be cautious until we got final approval from Vought”, Kripke said.

The Boys season 5: Farewell to Prime Video’s hit series
Even though The Boys series is ending, it’s good news that the universe on Prime Video continues to expand. The second season of Gen V is currently in pre-production, and a new spinoff, The Boys: Mexico, is also in development.
Kripke revealed that the Mexican-themed spinoff is “still a while away” and that Prime Video has signed the writer for the pilot. Although not officially announced, Blue Beetle screenwriter Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer is also rumored to be involved. In the meantime, Kripke advises fans to watch season 4. The Boys Season 5 release date
There is no official release date yet for The Boys’ Season 5. However, as we stated, it has been confirmed that it will be the show’s final season.
Based on the production timeline of previous seasons and the fact that Season 4 is just starting to air, it is likely that Season 5 will be released sometime between mid-to-late 2025 and early 2026.
