Businesses, it’s time to take your social media strategy to the next level. Google has rolled out a powerful update that integrates the latest social media posts from businesses directly into Google Maps and Search results.

Spotted by Search Engine Journal, this is a monumental shift in how consumers find and interact with your brand.

So if you don’t want to fall behind the competition, listen up!

How it works?

This update transforms your Google Business Profile into a much more vibrant way to connect with potential customers.

All you need to do is link your social media accounts, and your newest posts will automatically show up in a special ‘Social media updates‘ section at the bottom of your profile.

How do you take advantage of this new Google update?

The foundation is linking your active social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.) to your Google Business Profile (GBP).

You can add, edit, or remove links in your GBP under “Edit profile” -> “Business information” -> “Contact” -> “Social Profiles”

Once your social accounts are linked, Google will start automatically pulling recent posts from the supported platforms. This eliminates the need to manually update your GBP, saving you time.

Your recent social posts will appear in a section titled “Social media updates” towards the bottom of your Google Business Profile within Google Search and Maps. This gives them prominence and keeps them separate from your main business information.

Now’s the time to invest in quality social media content. Think of eye-catching visuals, promotions, and authentic engagement to maximize your reach.

Important note: This feature is currently rolling out, so you may not see it live on your profile just yet. However, start preparing your social media strategy with this massive opportunity in mind.

Need help? Google has detailed instructions on managing your social media links on your Google Business Profile. Many marketing agencies can assist you in maximizing your social media impact as well.
