Are you dreaming of seeing your game idea come to life on mobile screens worldwide? Well, hold onto your hats because Barbie and Mattel can turn that dream into reality!

Mattel, the iconic toy company known for bringing joy to millions of families worldwide, is stepping into the digital gaming arena like never before. Partnering closely with both big and small developers, Mattel is launching its self-published games initiative.

Hi Barbie, hi developer

Mike DeLaet, the global head of digital gaming at Mattel, expressed excitement about this new chapter in an interview with GamesBeat. DeLaet shared insights into Mattel’s vision, stating, “We’ll be very selective about our partners. We’re launching a self-publishing initiative where we do co-development. We’ll fund the development. We’ll fund the marketing, and we’ll do the publishing ourselves.”

This means that game developers can collaborate with Mattel to bring their ideas to real life.

Imagine having the iconic Barbie brand backing your game, guiding you through the development process, and helping you reach audiences globally. With Mattel’s extensive experience, resources, and PR power, your game could become the next big hit in the mobile gaming world.

According to DeLaet, “It’s a big shift, and it can add a lot more growth to the company.” With more control over the game’s development, publishing, and marketing, Mattel aims to create immersive gaming experiences that resonate with players of all ages.

This news comes after Mattel announced partnerships with other developers for Barbie and Thomas & Friends games. With lots of popular brands like Hot Wheels and Matchbox, Mattel aims to become a big player in digital gaming.

Watch out for more news as Mattel continues to bring out new games for everyone to enjoy.
