Did you just get back to Supercell’s famous and fun game and try to understand how to use evolution in Clash Royale? Don’t worry we will help you out!
Clash Royale’s dynamic gameplay just got a significant boost with the introduction of card evolution. These extraordinary transformations are shaking up the arena, and learning how to use evolution in Clash Royale can lead you to dominating victories.
We will soon unlock the strategic secrets behind leveraging these empowered units by explaining how to use evolution in Clash Royale.
How to use evolution in Clash Royale
Specific cards become evolution-ready after collecting enough Evolution Shards. Find these shards in places like challenges like Royal Challenge in Clash of Clans, the season shop, the Path of Legends, or special offers.
To activate an evolution, include the evolved card in the special “Evolution Slot” in your deck. It won’t evolve if placed in a traditional deck slot.
Evolution requires you to play the card a set number of times within a match, called “cycling”. After completing the cycles, the evolution becomes available.
Evolved cards gain extraordinary abilities. Once your card has finished cycling, it will display a Dark Elixir icon to indicate readiness. Deploy the evolved unit and wreak havoc on the battlefield!
As a matter of fact, Supercell is giving away free evolution shards right now, as mentioned on u/Resident_Ad_4681‘s Reddit post on r/ClashRoyale:

If you didn’t receive the special offer, keep in mind that card evolutions and the first evolution slot are unlocked at King Level 7 so grind up!
Which cards have evolution in Clash Royale?
Now that we are done with explaining how to use evolution in Clash Royale, let’s take a look at all of the evolution cards Clash Royale has to offer. Cards that have evolved versions in Clash Royale at the time of writing are as follows:
Evolved Barbarians
With every strike, an Evolved Barbarian’s rage grows, increasing its movement speed and attack speed. This effect stacks, potentially turning them into a whirlwind of unstoppable destruction.
Evolved Skeleton Army
Evolved Skeletons gain immense durability and become completely immune to the Zap spell, a common counter to regular Skeletons.
Evolved Mortar
The Evolved Mortar gains a substantial fire-rate increase, going from a 5-second to a 4-second reload time. The evolution also spawns a single Goblin upon deployment.
Evolved Goblin Giant
Turns the Goblin Giant into an elusive powerhouse that ignores buildings entirely and focuses only on towers and defensive troops. It also delivers significant spawn damage upon hitting the arena.
Evolved Royal Giant
Every time the Royal Giant attacks, a 2.5-tile radius, with low damage and a 1-tile knockback-inducing shockwave briefly appears around him.
Evolved Firecracker
Sparks that deal very low damage every 0.25 seconds appear after the initial attack is finished. Lasting 2.5 seconds. The center spark has a 2.5-tile radius while the shrapnel sparks have a 1.2-tile radius.
Evolved Knight
While moving or deploying, the Knight has a shield that reduces all damage taken by 60%. The shield breaks when an enemy troop gets within 1.2 tiles.
Evolved Royal Recruits
If a Royal Recruit’s shield is broken and they’ve traveled at least 1.5 tiles, they’ll charge with increased speed and deal significantly more damage with their next attack.
Evolved Bats
After every attack, Bats overheal themselves, effectively doubling their max health.
Evolved Archers
Deals increased damage to targets between 4.5 and 6 tiles away from them.
Evolved Ice Spirit
When it jumps onto an enemy, it inflicts a 1.2-second freeze. This repeats twice more (at 3-second intervals), and a temporary freeze area remains on the ground once the unit is defeated.
Evolved Valkyrie
Each Valkyrie attack creates a short-duration tornado, pulling enemies near her and dealing slight damage.
Evolved Bomber
The bombs it throws bounce twice off the ground after the initial throw, dealing damage in a radius after each bounce.
Evolved Wall Breakers
Upon initial death, they drop a damaging barrel which then allows them to continue running toward buildings at high speed, dealing heavy damage upon a second impact.
