Where is Echo of Malphas location in Diablo 4?

Echo of Malphas is a powerful optional boss you can encounter in Diablo 4, specifically during Season 3. It’s a more challenging version of the regular Malphas boss you face in the campaign, offering higher difficulty and better rewards.

Defeating Echo of Malphas provides better loot compared to other bosses. The main prize is the chance to obtain unique Turning Stones: Genesis and Evernight. These are the strongest Turning Stones in the game, significantly enhancing your Seneschal Construct.

Where is Echo of Malphas location?

The Echo of Malphas, a new Uber boss introduced in Diablo 4 Season 3, resides within the Vault of the Loom, located in the Gatehall area.

However, accessing the Echo of Malphas location requires fulfilling several prerequisites:

  1. Complete the Season Campaign: This unlocks the Uber Bosses, including Echo of Malphas
  2. Gather the Required Offerings: You’ll need specific resources to enter the Echo of Malphas location:
    • 7 Igneous Cores: Dropped by the Herald of Malphas
    • 250 Shattered Stones: Earned from killing Constructs
    • 3-4 Pearls of Warding: Dropped by the Herald of Malphas or found in Vaults
  3. Activate Zoltun’s Warding: Once inside the Vault, use the Pearls of Warding at the statue of Zoltun Kulle to gain charges for Zoltun’s Warding (up to 40)

Once you have gathered all the resources and fulfilled prerequisites, here is how to access Echo of Malphas location:

  1. Travel to The Gatehall
  2. Locate the entrance to the Vault of the Loom
  3. Pay the entrance fee:
    • 7 Igneous Cores
    • 250 Shattered Stones
  4. Inside the Vault, use your Pearls of Warding at the statue of Zoltun Kulle to gain temporary buffs
  5. Progress through the dungeon, defeating enemies and bosses
  6. Reach the final boss encounter: Echo of Malphas
  7. Defeat the Echo of Malphas to claim your rewards

What are Echo of Malphas rewards?

Once you have reached the Echo of Malphas location, what’s left to do is to defeat Echo of Malphas. The rewards for defeating Echo of Malphas in Diablo 4 primarily fall into two categories:

  • General loot
  • Unique turning stones

General loot:

Echo of Malphas has a higher chance to drop Legendary and Rare items compared to other bosses. These can be various pieces of equipment for your character, depending on your class and needs.

You’ll still receive regular loot like crafting materials, gold, and gems.

And also depending on your chosen World Tier difficulty, you might get specific gear with higher Item Power.

Unique turning stones:

These are the most sought-after rewards from Echo of Malphas.

They are two specific Turning Stones: Genesis and Evernight.

These Stones are the strongest in the game and dramatically enhance your Seneschal Construct, offering powerful buffs and abilities.

Both Stones have different effects:

  • Genesis focuses on increasing damage output and offensive capabilities
  • Evernight enhances defensive stats and crowd control abilities

How do you fight Echo of Malphas?

To triumph over the Echo of Malphas in Diablo 4, you’ll need to arm yourself with preparation, strategy, and skillful execution.

First and foremost, ensure your character is well-leveled and equipped with gear that can handle challenging encounters. Aim for gear with high item power and stats that align with your build. Additionally, consider partnering with other players whose classes complement yours, offering buffs, healing, or crowd control. It’s also crucial to stock up on potions, health recovery items, and other consumables that aid in survivability.

Before diving into the fight, familiarize yourself with Echo of Malphas’ attacks, phases, and special abilities. Study guides or videos to learn about the boss’s mechanics and develop a plan to counter them.

The fight against Echo of Malphas consists of multiple phases, each with its unique set of attacks and mechanics. Adapt your strategy to each phase’s challenges, and maintain constant movement to avoid the boss’s powerful AoE attacks and projectiles.

In the first phase, dodge the Guardian’s spinning attacks and Chakram throws. Your primary focus should be destroying the Conduits that spawn around the arena.

Echo of Malphas Phase 3
