Everybody has been talking about Palworld nowadays and well sometimes it’s about problems such as the Palworld heater not working issue.
What to do if your Palworld heater not working?
Don’t worry, there are a few things you can try if your Palworld heater not working.
First, make sure the heater has enough fuel to operate. Different heaters require different types of fuel, so double-check what yours needs and ensure it’s stocked.
Next, verify that a Pal with the “Kindling” pulse skill is assigned to the heater. You can check this by selecting the heater and looking at the work orders. If no Pal is assigned, assign one with the appropriate skill.
Ensure the assigned Pal isn’t taking a break, eating, or the infamous Palworld upset and not willing to work message might have been popped off. If their needs aren’t met, they might not focus on the heater. Prioritize their well-being or assign a different Pal.
If the above steps don’t work, try dismantling and rebuilding the heater in a different location. Some players have reported success with this method.
If you have done all that but still have the Palworld heater not working issue, here are some steps you can take:
Double-check that the assigned Pal actually has the “Kindling” skill at a sufficient level. Higher levels provide more heat. Make sure the “Kindling” work order is active for the assigned Pal through the Pal menu.
Ensure you have enough resources in your inventory to sustain the heater’s fuel consumption. In rare cases, specific Pals might have compatibility issues with certain heaters. Try assigning a different Pal if this is the case.
Lastly, remember that heaters primarily affect the immediate area around them. If your base is in a very cold biome, a single heater might not be enough. Consider additional heaters or buildings in a warmer location.
Do heaters work better than campfires for hatching in Palworld?
You know that the Palworld heater not working problem, apart from unfavorable working conditions, can also affect your Palworld breeding time. So should we take all these potential problems with heaters into consideration?
Surprisingly, no! Despite their seemingly higher tech appearance, heaters offer no advantage over campfires when it comes to hatching eggs in Palworld. Both provide the same +50% heat bonus to the surrounding area, which translates to faster egg hatching for eggs that prefer warm environments.
Reddit user Daniel_Kingsman explains in a Reddit blog post:
I ran tests to try and get the fire eggs to +100% in a standard biome. The heater provided no benefit beyond the +50% you get from the campfire. Conclusion: There is no point in wasting a base pal slot on a heater. Wait to unlock the electric heater and use a campfire instead.

PSA: Heaters do not help eggs any better than campfires do.

Campfires use readily available resources like wood or kindling, which are easy to obtain but heaters on the other hand require a Pal assigned with the “Kindling” skill and consume resources like coal or biofuel, which can be more challenging to manage.
Unless you specifically prefer the visual appeal of heaters, campfires are the more practical and efficient choice for hatching eggs in Palworld. They offer the same heat benefit without requiring additional resources or occupying a valuable base Pal slot. So if you are only using heaters to find out the best Palworld breeding combos, you don’t really have to worry about the Palworld heater not working issue, a campfire will do just fine!
