Meta is rolling out a new feature called Facebook Link History that will allow you to find links you’ve interacted with in the app easily.
The feature in question will be activated when you see a link that interests you while browsing Facebook, but you cannot find that link again.
What is the Facebook Link History feature?
Facebook Link History is a new archive feature available on both Android and iOS devices. It will allow you to see all the links you have interacted with within Facebook and visited in Facebook’s Mobile Browser in the last 30 days. This means you can easily find that funny meme you saw last week or that article you read about your favorite celebrity.
How does Facebook Link History work?
When you turn on Link History (which you can do at any time), all the links you interact with on Facebook will be archived for 30 days. This includes links you clicked on in the News Feed and links you visited via private chats on Messenger.
But don’t worry – Link History doesn’t save links you visit through private chats in Messenger. You can also remove links from your history anytime, giving you full control over your data.
Why is Facebook Link History useful?
Facebook Link History feature provides another way to track your activity, making finding things you’ve seen in the app easier. It’s also useful for finding adverts you’ve interacted with. Meta can use your Link History information to show you more relevant adverts in the app.
Also, if you don’t like the ads you see, you can always visit your “Ad Preferences” and delete links to things that might skew your targeting.
When will Facebook Link History be publicly available?
Meta has not announced when the Link History Archive option will be available to all regions. Still, it is in the process of being extended to all mobile users. So watch for the pop-up asking you to open Link History – it’s coming soon!
The bottom line is that Link History is a handy new feature from Meta that will allow you to find links you’ve interacted with on Facebook easily. With a 30-day archive and the ability to remove links anytime, Link History offers another way to track your Facebook activity and see more relevant adverts in the app.
