The electric bike is a low-emission way of transportation that offers benefits in health, time, cost, safety, and air & noise pollution. For short distance commuting, e-bikes are a more efficient choice compared to others. Government across the globe are actively supporting the electric bike industry by addressing favorable policies to promote the sales of this kind. It provides consumers and brands with multiple benefits such as zero or low registration fees, public charging supports, and others.
And TEZEUS, a tech-lifestyle mobility brand, with the philosophy of “intelligent, eco-friendly, and stylish”, has brought their first e-bike to us, the C8. The C8 is a minimalist shape designed, ultralight bike, and packed with unique smart features. In this review, let’s brake down the details.
Design
Minimalist look & full carbon
Aesthetics meet functionality in TEZEUS’ design philosophy. The minimalist look, coupled with a full carbon frame, not only contributes to the bike’s overall sleek appearance but also ensures a lightweight yet robust build. The choice of materials reflects an understanding of the modern commuter’s needs: a bike that is not only efficient but also visually appealing. I am sure you will love riding this bike around the city more.
Innovative features
Millimeter wave radar in the taillight:
The millimeter wave radar in the taillight is a standout feature, having such an advanced level of safety to the electric biking experience. The ways how it works is when the radar detects there is a vehicle approaches within 100 meters and 60° field of view, the taillight will shine to alert the vehicle behind you, while show it on the screen in the handlebar, and vibrate & make sound so you would be notified . This technology not only enhances visibility but also serves as a proactive measure, alerting you to potential hazard. The fusion of safety and innovation in the taillight is commendable, addressing a crucial aspect of urban commuting.
Self-developed LINUX Operating System EBIKE OS 2.0:
TEZEUS has brought its self-developed LINUX operating system, the EBIKE OS 2.0. While this may not be a game-changer for every rider, tech enthusiasts like us will certainly appreciate the customization and potential for future updates that come with an in-house operating system. While testing out the bike, the APP UI is much more advanced than previous bike we tested, and it shows ever info we need to know on the screen, we love such feature! This LINUX system adds a layer of versatility, allowing it to adapt to all user needs in the future.
Self-developed mid-drive motor:
TEZEUS boasts a self-developed 250W mid-drive motor, it is with a notable advantage: Its compact size compared to similar motors in the market. This design choice not only contributes to the bike’s streamlined appearance, but also hints on efficiency and space optimization. The advantages of this motor are subtle but significant, catering to riders who appreciate a well-engineered powertrain.
As usual, there are three advanced sensors built in, which are Speed Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, and Torque Sensor. These sensors contributes to the overall ride experience without having rider to decide on how to ride. The Speed sensor helps balanced-well in the dynamics of your e-bike ,the Gyroscope sensor detection to gives you enough torque in uphill scenarios. And the Torque Sensor mirrors your power input through the pedals more precisely and accurately. While testing the bike, we do feel the intuitive control these sensors brought.
Anti-theftfunction with GPS tracking:
Security is a paramount concern for all bike owners, and TEZEUS addresses this with its anti-theft function and GPS tracking support. In the situation of theft, the ability to trace and recover the bike adds a layer of reassurance for us. While not a unique feature in the electric bike market, TEZEUS still incorporates it seamlessly, aligning with the trend of smart, secure urban mobility.
GaN fast charger & 360Wh LG removable battery:
Charging time is a critical factor in the practicality of electric bikes. TEZEUS C8 has a Gallium Nitride (GaN) fast charger included. A full charge within 2.5 hours is an attractive proposition for urban commuters. At the same time, the option for a removable battery is a practical touch, addressing the charging station limitations often comes with electric bikes. A single charge can get you 63miles/100km of range. TEZEUS allows you to easily swap out the battery, potentially extending the range for longer journeys. This feature caters to the diverse needs of riders, from daily commuting to more extended recreational rides.
Other features
Auto geadlight:
TEZEUS incorporates an auto headlight feature, responding to the need for increased visibility during low-light conditions. While not a groundbreaking innovation, the auto headlight adds to the bike’s safety features, contributing to a hassle-free riding experience at night.
App, riding data record, custom account, OTA upgrade:
The TEZEUS experience extends beyond the physical bike with its dedicated app. Riders can track their rides, customize settings, and benefit from over-the-air (OTA) upgrades. The inclusion of a custom account adds a personal touch, enhancing the overall user interface. These features contribute to a comprehensive user experience, aligning TEZEUS with the contemporary trend of smart, connected devices.
The market for electric bikes is dynamic, and continuous innovation is essential to stay ahead. TEZEUS has laid a solid foundation, and its future product developments and updates will likely shape its standing in the electric bike arena. For now, TEZEUS stands as a commendable choice for tech-savvy riders seeking a reliable, stylish, and feature-rich electric bike for their urban adventures. Tezeus bike will be available on indiegogo and official website soon.
