The newly introduced event is extremely fun, but it can be a bit confusing given its size. Let’s break it down into pieces and check out how you can make your way through the MW2 Haunting Event.
Confronting the Butcher – Altair of Lilith
- Locations: Al Mazrah City, Zaya Observatory, Cemetery, Hydroelectric
The Butcher Boss, reminiscent of Diablo 4, can appear randomly across the map. Follow these steps to engage and defeat the formidable foe:
- Clear the Altair pad of AI enemies. Although not mandatory, it’s advised to prevent becoming a target. A well-placed grenade should suffice.
- Activate one of the five Altairs to initiate the ritual.
- Defend against the spawning Zombies until the progress bar fills up.
- Repeat until a pentagram manifests and a portal appears at the center.
- Enter the portal for the final showdown in Hell.
- Engage in combat with the Butcher and his zombie cohorts. Keep an eye on your health and the Butcher’s life bar.
Tackling the Ghost Train – Al Mazrah Train
- Details: Exercise caution due to the presence of mines, tripwires, and sentry guns within the train cars.
The Ghost Train is a revamped edition of the Al Mazrah Train, accessible only from specific sections. It boasts a complete visual overhaul with fresh effects, cosmetic enhancements, and updated audio elements. - Navigate through the train, avoiding traps.
- Reach the end, open the safe, and secure the Train Heart.

Confronting the swamp creature – Mawizeh Marshlands
- Strategy: Focus on looting the orange pods (avoid the green ones). Seek out the Golden Tiara, essential for the Event checkmark. Engage the Swamp Creature in combat. Dispatch as many Swamp Creatures as needed until the objective is fulfilled.
In the Mawizeh Marshlands, discover pods surrounding the area. Follow these steps to locate and defeat the formidable Swamp Creature:
- Loot the orange pods, avoiding the green ones.
- Find the Golden Tiara, crucial for the Event checkmark.
- Head to the central island and locate the golden sigil on the ground.
- Offer the tiara, and engage the Swamp Creature in combat.
Confronting the UFO boss – Al Mazrah Water Area
- Approach with Caution: Engaging the UFO is no small feat. Be prepared for a challenging encounter.
The returning UFO from Zombies In Spaceland poses a considerable challenge. It demands careful planning as it’s one of the more time-consuming objectives and susceptible to interference from other players. Ensure you have a solid strategy in place before engaging. You’ll recognize the correct location by the open water hole, which reveals two shipwrecks and a towering orb above them.
- Locate the open hole in the water revealing two shipwrecks with a giant orb above them.
- Target the orb and face off against its defensive split.
- Defeat all three orbs until they vanish.
- The UFO will then make its appearance.
- Stay vigilant and take down the UFO until it explodes, yielding a valuable artifact.
Confronting the Pharaoh boss – Oasis location
- Location Alert: The Oasis, situated in the upper left corner of Al Mazrah, is your battleground.
The upper-left ruins of Al Mazrah, now known as “Oasis,” have transformed into a haunting ground, hosting both possessed AI adversaries and the resting place of a Pharaoh. To proceed, eliminate the possessed AI entities, gather the dropped skulls, and transport them to the Pharaoh’s tomb. Remember, these skulls occupy inventory space, and you’ll require a total of ten to proceed.
- Battle possessed AI enemies and collect their skulls.
- Transport these skulls to the Pharaoh’s tomb.
- Once you’ve gathered a total of 10, deposit them in the tomb to trigger the Pharaoh’s resurrection.
- Brace yourself for a tough fight, maintaining distance while relentlessly firing at the Pharaoh.
