Now, let’s talk about what makes the Google Pixel Watch 2 stand out in terms of features:
- Heart Rate Sensor: The Pixel Watch 2 has a new multi-path heart rate sensor for improved accuracy. It measures your pulse from various angles using numerous LEDs and photodiodes, making it suitable for a variety of workout intensities. This sensor is also responsible for functions such as sleep tracking, heart rate alerts, and the Daily Readiness Score.
- Body Response Tracking: The Pixel Watch 2 is equipped with a continuous electrodermal activity (cEDA) sensor that can monitor stress levels in your body. This tool, known as “Body Response Tracking,” assists you in recognizing indicators of stress and provides suggestions, such as guided breathing exercises.
- Safety Check: The Pixel Watch 2, like Pixel phones, allows you to schedule a Safety Check. If you do not react, it alerts your designated contacts to confirm your well-being or shares your current position with emergency services.
- Wear OS 4: The Pixel Watch 2 is powered by Google’s most recent smartwatch software, Wear OS 4. It has pre-installed Gmail and Calendar applications, allowing you to handle emails and events straight from your wrist. The bundle also includes enhanced voice commands and a backup and restore function.
- Health and fitness metrics: Heart Zone Training, Pace Training, SpO2 monitoring, Fitbit ECG for on-demand ECG readings, and thorough sleep tracking are among the health and fitness indicators tracked by the Pixel Watch 2. Pixel Watch 2 availability
The Google Pixel Watch 2 was launched on October 4 at Google’s Made By Google event, when the Pixel 8 series was also presented. The watch is already available for pre-order, and it will be available for purchase on October 12. It will be offered initially in nine countries: the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland (Wi-Fi only), Japan, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Google intends to expand its availability to more locations in the near future.
