A growing concern has surfaced among BMW owners using the latest iPhone 15 models while making use of the car’s wireless charging feature. Reports on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) reveal that many users have encountered issues with their iPhone 15 devices, shedding light on a potential compatibility problem between the iPhone 15 and BMW’s wireless charging technology.

The problem at hand involves a malfunction in the iPhone 15’s NFC (Near Field Communication) chip, which plays a pivotal role in various features, including Apple Pay and the use of digital car keys. After utilizing the integrated wireless charging pad within their BMW vehicles, iPhone 15 users are met with an error message stating, “Could Not Set Up Apple Pay,” when attempting to access the Wallet application.

Searching for a solution

As of now, there is no immediate solution to address this issue. Some affected individuals have reported receiving replacement iPhones from Apple after confirming the NFC chip malfunction. However, the worrisome aspect is that these replacement devices are still susceptible to the same problem, suggesting that a lasting fix remains elusive.

Implications for all iPhone 15 models

While most complaints originate from users of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, there is a looming risk for owners of the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models as well. Consequently, all iPhone 15 series device owners are advised to exercise caution when utilizing BMW’s wireless charging function until a definitive remedy emerges.

Uncovering the cause

The precise cause of this issue remains shrouded in mystery, and both the exact number of affected customers and the specific BMW models involved have yet to be determined. Experts and technicians are actively working to uncover the root cause of the NFC chip malfunction and are committed to finding a permanent solution to ensure seamless compatibility between iPhone 15 devices and BMW’s wireless charging technology.

iPhone 15 came out with a couple of issues

This is not the only issue that iPhone 15 users are facing right now. Many users have been reporting that their devices are overheating. Users of the high-end iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models have recently experienced a somewhat uncomfortable issue: their devices have been drastically overheating during normal use.

Users have even gone so far as to say that the heat is uncomfortable in some instances. There are several reasons that together make up the main cause of this overheating problem.

In conclusion, even though this problem can cause BMW owners who have iPhone 15 devices a brief difficulty, it’s important to note that both Apple and BMW are actively looking into the problem. A solution is predicted soon thanks to the combined efforts of two tech titans, allowing BMW owners to benefit from wireless charging without worrying about their iPhone 15’s NFC chip.

Owners of iPhones from the 15th generation should continue to exercise caution and keep themselves informed in the interim.
