Additionally, the company shed light on its ongoing efforts to enhance Alexa’s conversational abilities, aiming to make controlling your smart home devices a breeze.
What are the new Amazon Echo devices?
The new Amazon Echo devices have been revealed, and there are many new innovations that will make our lives easier. Amazon didn’t only reveal new devices but also released important updates to some of its products to put a smile on loyal customers. Here are all the new Amazon Echo devices that were revealed during the vent:
- Echo Hub
- Echo Frames
- Echo Show 8
- Eero Max 7
Amazon Echo Hub
At the heart of Amazon’s announcements is the Echo Hub, priced at $179.99. This sleek device is purpose-built to serve as your smart home controller. Resembling a trimmed-down Echo Show 8 or a compact Show 15, the Echo Hub is designed to seamlessly blend into your living space. You can mount it on your wall or position it on a table or shelf using a desktop stand.
Sporting an eight-inch touchscreen, the Echo Hub shares its DNA with the Echo Show smart display, albeit with some unique features. While it runs on the same operating system as the new Show 5, it boasts a different processor and lacks a camera. Instead, the Echo Hub employs an infrared (IR) sensor that wakes up as you approach, eliminating the need for multiple taps to activate smart home widgets, such as turning on lights or checking security cameras.
Soon available for pre-order and slated to ship later this year, the Echo Hub includes a wall-mount bracket, power adapter, and a six-foot cable (USB-A to C). For those seeking a more personalized touch, Amazon offers decorative frames in wood, white (paintable), and metallic, priced at $19.99 each, along with a tabletop stand for $29.99.
Echo Frames
Amazon’s latest iteration of Echo Frames is 15% thinner and boasts an improved battery life, offering up to six hours of continuous media playback or talk time. Notably, these frames support “multipoint” pairing, allowing wearers to connect them to multiple audio devices simultaneously without the hassle of taking out their phones.
Amazon has also completely revamped the audio experience in the Frames, promising more balanced sound, enhanced audio clarity, and reduced distortion. With seven different styles and the option for prescription-ready frames, Echo Frames are set to elevate your audio experience.
Echo Show 8
The Echo Show 8 gets a much-anticipated update, featuring spatial audio capabilities akin to Sonos smart speakers. This enhancement ensures that music sounds its best in any room. The new model is slightly more rounded in shape and packs a 13-megapixel camera with improved background noise reduction for crystal-clear video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the Echo Show 8 covers all bases for the smart home, supporting Matter, Zigbee, Bluetooth, Thread, and Sidewalk – Amazon’s internal mesh network that helps you keep tabs on your package deliveries.
Eero Max 7
Eero, now under Amazon’s umbrella, introduces the Eero Max 7 – a Wi-Fi router designed to meet the demands of today’s connected homes. With three wireless bands, including 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz, this router delivers up to 4.3 Gbps of wireless throughput, with a wired capability of up to 9.4 Gbps.
A standout feature of the Max 7 is its impressive array of ethernet ports – a first for Eero. It boasts two 10GB ethernet ports and two 2.5GB ethernet ports, accommodating over 200 connected devices. The router also supports Matter and Zigbee, acting as a Thread border router for seamless smart home connectivity.
In a rapidly evolving tech landscape, Amazon’s commitment to innovation shines through with these exciting Echo lineup additions. From the Echo Hub’s smart home control prowess to the sleek and improved Echo Frames, and the enhanced Echo Show 8 with spatial audio, there’s something for everyone.
And with the Eero Max 7 pushing the boundaries of Wi-Fi performance, Amazon continues to pave the way for a smarter, more connected future. Stay tuned for these exciting new Amazon Echo devices coming soon to elevate your tech experience.
