Apple has finally rolled out HomePod 17 and tvOS 17. Below you will find all the information you need to know about these two operating systems and also how to install them right now.
Apple is back with some exciting new stuff for your Apple TV and HomePod! They’ve just released tvOS 17 and HomePod 17, and we’re here to tell you all about the cool things these updates bring to the table. Get ready for a more fun and convenient experience with your Apple gadgets.
tvOS 17 Features
It’s like a makeover for your Apple TV. They’ve made it easier to control your TV and find that pesky Siri Remote. The Control Center, which is like the control hub for your TV, has a fresh new look that’s super easy to use. No more getting lost in menus and buttons!
Now, the really cool part is finding your Siri Remote with your iPhone. If you’ve ever lost your remote in the couch cushions, you’ll love this feature. It uses FaceTime, which is like a video chat on your TV, to help you locate your remote. Say goodbye to remote hunting adventures!
If you’re into online privacy, tvOS 17 has something for you too. You can set up a thing called a VPN through special apps. This VPN helps protect your online stuff, like your data and what you do on the internet. It’s like a security guard for your digital life.
“Through the powerful integration of hardware and software, Apple TV 4K becomes an even more versatile living room device with the launch of FaceTime on tvOS 17 today, bringing new ways to connect with family and friends.1 Users can make calls directly from Apple TV 4K, or start calls on iPhone or iPad, and hand them off to Apple TV 4K. FaceTime on Apple TV 4K takes advantage of Continuity Camera support to wirelessly connect to iPhone or iPad, and leverages the devices’ cameras and microphones to bring participants together on the TV,” says Apple.
How to install tvOS 17
- Open your Apple TV.
- Go to Settings.
- Select System.

HomePod 17 Features
Now, let’s talk about HomePod Software 17, which makes your Apple smart speaker even smarter! With this update, you can tell Siri to play music or other stuff from your iPhone using your voice. It’s like having your own personal DJ, and all you have to do is ask.
Siri also gets some new voices in German, making your interactions with the smart speaker more diverse and interesting. And guess what? You don’t need to say “Hey Siri” anymore to get Siri’s attention. Just say its name, and it’s ready to help you out. It’s like having a friendly chat with a robot buddy.
Here is Apple’s official announcement:
Software version 17 includes support for your HomePod. This update also includes bug fixes and stability improvements.
- Siri support for AirPlay allows you to start an AirPlay session from your iPhone or iPad directly on your HomePod using just your voice, so you can play an even wider range of third-party music services on HomePod.
