They vigorously defended the clip’s authenticity, though opinions within the gaming community are divided. While some fans were convinced of its legitimacy, others dismissed it, suggesting that the voice might have been generated by artificial intelligence. Take-Two Interactive reportedly removed the clip from the profile, citing copyright concerns, further adding to the mystery.
The clip was initially shared on September 2, 2023, and the reference to October is unclear—it could be October 24 or simply the month of October 2024.
Of particular note is the section in the clip that alludes to the announcement date for GTA 6, a detail that has piqued the interest of fans and fueled speculation.
Rockstar Games GTA 6 release date might be released in October
The gaming community’s hunger for information about Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is well-known, but recent “leaked” voice clips hinting at the game’s reveal and release dates should be taken with a hefty dose of skepticism. However, a recent “leak” has been circulating online, supposedly featuring a voice memo from Strauss Zelnick. In the clip, Zelnick allegedly mentions that GTA 6 will be revealed in October 2023 and launched in October 2024. However, there are reasons to be skeptical of this audio. Critics point out that Zelnick mispronounces the Roman numeral “VI” as “vee-eye,” which seems unusual. Additionally, the tone and context of the audio clip appear questionable.
Some confusion has arisen regarding the October 23 and 24 claims, with some mistakenly believing that the audio suggests the game will be announced on October 23 and released on October 24 of the current year. However, the intention of the audio, whether real or not, seems to be that the game will be announced in October 2023, with the release happening in October 2024.
The alleged leaked audio has faced copyright takedowns and removal from the web, which some speculate might be part of a hoax to lend credibility to the leak. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to discover whether these claims hold any truth. If the leak is authentic, then GTA 6’s reveal will take place next month. If it’s a fake, fans might need to be patient in their wait for the highly anticipated game.
There is another possibility that the leaked audio could be fake, but Rockstar might still be planning to reveal Grand Theft Auto 6 in October. Prior to the emergence of this leaked audio, there were already rumors circulating about a potential GTA 6 reveal happening this fall.
