League of Legends fans, get ready for some fresh excitement as Riot Games gears up to introduce a brand-new LoL champion Briar to their already massive lineup. The countdown to the release of Briar, the “hangry” jungler from Noxus, is well underway.

The League of Legends community is buzzing with anticipation as the arrival of Briar draws near. A leaked splash art featuring the character has added fuel to the fire, sparking discussions and debates among fans. Although Riot developers haven’t officially confirmed the leak, the chances are high that it’s legit.

New LoL champion Briar’s release date

So, when can you expect to get your hands on this intriguing new champion? Briar is set to make her grand debut on the live servers around September 27th. This lines up perfectly with the excitement of the 2023 World Championship and League Patch 13.19. While the pros battle it out in South Korea, players of all ranks will soon have the opportunity to dive into the game with Briar.

Speaking of testing, you can anticipate her appearance on the League PBE realm roughly by September 7th. This gives players and Riot about three weeks to put her abilities and effects through their paces.

The art introduces us to a striking character—a young girl with white hair, complemented by pink gradient tips. Her attire, a mysterious black dress, is accompanied by an intriguing metallic contraption that confines her hands. What truly catches the eye are her all-white eyes and serrated teeth, evoking a sense of intrigue and curiosity.

New LoL champion Briar’s abilities

But what’s the deal with Briar’s background and abilities? Well, she’s not your average newcomer. Briar is a 2,000-year-old vampire who has spent quite some time sealed away in a castle. According to Riot’s teasers, she has an interesting mechanic where she gets “hungry” during matches, leading to a transformation that changes her character.

Her abilities are set to shake up the League’s dynamic. Briar is designed with jungling in mind, and leaked details suggest she can leap, chase enemies with a “blood frenzy,” and gain power through her ultimate. The most intriguing aspect? She’ll heal through her attacks instead of passive regeneration. This unique twist adds an exciting layer to the 165th champion’s gameplay. Here’s a detailed description of all of her abilities

  1. Passive: Thirsting Strike
    • Briar lacks passive health regeneration.
    • Her basic attacks apply a stacking Bleed effect on enemies.
    • A portion of the damage dealt by her Bleed effect heals her.
    • The healing effect increases based on her missing health.
  1. Q Ability: Feral Lunge
    • Briar lunges toward an enemy, reducing their armor and stunning them upon impact.

  1. W Ability: Pillory Break
    • In an intense moment, Briar shatters her pillory, entering a Frenzied state.
    • During this state, she gains increased Movement Speed and Attack Speed, ideal for pursuing enemies.
    • Activating W again during Frenzy causes her next attack to result in a chomp.
  2. E Ability: Sanguine Scream
    • Briar releases a chilling scream that deals area-of-effect damage and slows enemies caught in its radius.
    • The ability requires a charge-up time before casting.
    • While charging, she takes reduced damage and heals a portion of her maximum health.
    • A fully charged Sanguine Scream can knock back enemies and potentially stun them if they collide with a wall. The ability also concludes her Frenzy state.

  1. R/Ultimate Ability: Bloodmarked Pursuit
    • Briar marks her first target upon activation.
    • She dashes toward the marked enemy, triggering fear in all nearby enemies upon contact.
    • During her ultimate, Briar gains additional Movement Speed, Magic Resistance, Armor, and Lifesteal, empowering her for the fray.

And then there’s the juicy lore and backstory. Briar seems to be a failed experiment of the secretive Noxian organization, Black Rose. Her hunger for “Knowledge and Blood” drives her actions. Her abilities, like her leap into enemies, her frenzy mode, and her scream that deals damage and slows, create an enticing playstyle that’s sure to turn heads.

Despite the leaks and hints, Riot hasn’t fully unveiled Briar’s details, abilities, or lore. As more information becomes available, we’ll make sure to update you with the latest scoop.

So, fellow summoners, get ready to sink your teeth into the world of League of Legends once again as new LoL champion Briarprepares to make her unforgettable entrance. With her unique mechanics and exciting abilities, she’s poised to leave a lasting mark on the ever-evolving landscape of this beloved game. Get ready to embrace the “hangry” vampire and her captivating gameplay!
