Get ready for an electrifying revelation from Lamborghini! The famous Italian carmaker is all set to reveal a concept of its very first fully electric supercar during the Monterey Car Week in California this Friday, Lamborghini EV. Earlier this week, Lamborghini gave us a sneak peek with a shadowy image of this sleek and stylish vehicle. They hinted that something “new and truly thrilling” is on the horizon, leaving auto fans in eager anticipation.
Now, let’s not rev our engines just yet. While Lamborghini EV has us all buzzing, it won’t soon be zooming onto the streets. Lamborghini has let us in on the plan – they’re aiming to start making these electric beauties “by the end of the decade,” probably around 2028.
Mitja Borkert, the genius behind Lamborghini’s design, spilled the beans. He said that this electric supercar will carry “1,000% the design DNA of Lamborghini.” And don’t worry, it won’t mess with their other cool car designs. Lamborghini is taking its sweet time making the switch to electric. They’re going to jazz up their lineup with gas-electric hybrid versions by 2024 before giving us the full electric treat.
Lamborghini EV is still a concept car
Even though Lamborghini EV is only a concept, the car will give us a glimpse of what an EV would seem like to the Lamborghini. The Italian automaker’s ambitions for electrification, which will take place over the following ten years in two different phases, were first announced two years ago.
The business said that it will release gas-electric hybrid versions of every model in its inventory by the end of 2024. Then, by the end of the decade, Lamborghini will unveil its first entirely electric vehicle, Lamborghini EV.
Something new and truly thrilling is about to be unveiled.

As a result, limited-edition Sián roadsters and plug-in hybrid versions of the Aventador, Huracán, and Urus models will be available within the next three years. And before 2030, Lamborghini will introduce a brand-new fourth model that is all electric. There will probably be some hints concerning that enigmatic fourth model in the design that will be unveiled later this week.

The 2024 Revuelto, a 6.5-liter V12 with 813 horsepower and three electric motors for a total 1,015cv (1,001 horsepower in metric units), has already given us a taste of Lamborghini’s first hybrid car. The hybrid will take the place of the Lamborghini Aventador in the lineup.
Lamborghini EV performance
Now, let’s talk about what really matters – what’s under the hood. This electric stunner isn’t just about looks; it’s got to deliver the heart-pounding performance that fans expect from a supercar. The tech wizards at Lamborghini have been working hard to make sure of that.
This big reveal is happening not long after Lamborghini introduced its Revuelto plug-in hybrid. This baby replaced the Aventador supercar and set the stage for more electrifying ventures.

In a recent chat, Lamborghini’s chief technology officer, Rouven Mohr, acknowledged that the car world is changing. With stricter rules about emissions and cities thinking about electric cars, Lamborghini knows it’s time to rev up their electric game. Batteries and other fancy tech stuff have also gotten better, giving Lamborghini the boost it needs to dive into hybrid and electric rides.
So, hold onto your seats, folks. Lamborghini is revving up for a whole new chapter, and we can’t wait to see – and hear – what they have in store for us!
