The highly anticipated PoE 2, revealed during ExileCon 2023, is set to change the action RPG genre with its inclusion of six new Path of Exile 2 classes and an array of innovative features that promise to redefine gameplay dynamics.

Path of Exile 2, the highly anticipated expansion for the critically acclaimed action RPG, has sent shockwaves through the gaming community with its ambitious plans to redefine the experience for both seasoned adventurers and newcomers alike.

Set two decades after the defeat of the monstrous deity Kitava, the sequel promises a fresh perspective on the world of Wraeclast, introducing players to a new seven-act campaign, substantial system overhauls, and an array of captivating classes to choose from.

See the gameplay trailer in the video by Path of Exile on Youtube below where they showcased the new Path of Exile 2 classes below.

The previous gameplay demo showcased two of the new Path of Exile 2 classes, the Monk and Sorceress, each catering to different attributes and playstyles. The Monk excels in agile melee combat, while the Sorceress specializes in elemental destruction.

The expansive skill system, offering over 240 active and 1500 passive skills, promises unparalleled character customization, enabling players to craft truly unique and distinct adventurers.

New Path of Exile 2 classes look promising

Path of Exile 2 is more than just a sequel; it’s a comprehensive evolution of the beloved franchise. With its announcement at ExileCon in November 2019, the game’s community was introduced to a slew of exciting features. Notably, the sequel boasts six entirely new classes, promising fresh dynamics and abilities to explore.

The introduction of six novel Path of Exile 2 classes—Warrior, Huntress, Sorceress, Mercenary, Monk, and Druid—complements the existing roster, offering players a broader spectrum of gameplay styles and strategic choices. Each class brings its own unique attributes and abilities to the table, ensuring that players can tailor their experiences to suit their preferred playstyles.

These new Path of Exile 2 classes stand as the pillars of innovation that will define the game’s new era, each bearing a distinct identity and gameplay style.

Embracing nature’s fury with Ranger

In the upcoming Path of Exile 2, the Ranger class takes center stage with a trio of new Ascendancy classes, each poised to redefine the way players engage with the world of Wraeclast.

These Ascendancy classes introduce innovative gameplay mechanics and offer unique approaches to combat and strategy, contributing to the overall diversity and depth of the game. It’s essential to note that these details, although intriguing, are still subject to potential changes as the game’s development progresses.

One of the captivating additions to the Ranger’s repertoire in Path of Exile 2 is the Beastmaster Ascendancy class. Tailored to embrace the untamed essence of nature, the Beastmaster introduces a shape-shifting mechanism that breathes new life into the gameplay experience. This Ascendancy class grants exclusive access to the Werecat shape-shifting skill, coupled with a significant Critical Strike bonus. The allure of the Beastmaster lies in its seamless transition between various forms: from the formidable Werewolf to the mighty Werebear, and even the elusive Werecat, players can adapt their strategy to the situation at hand.

For those drawn to survivalist tactics and adaptable combat, the Survivalist Ascendancy class beckons. Designed to empower players with game-changing abilities, the Survivalist introduces novel mechanics that enhance the Ranger’s versatility on the battlefield. One of the standout features is the ability to incorporate entire skill gems into your weapon, a mechanic that scales with your character’s level. The “Division” node, for example, grants access to both a single-target and an area-of-effect attack version of a skill from a single gem.

Last but not least, the Tactician Ascendancy class ushers in a new era of strategic prowess for the Ranger in Path of Exile 2. This class excels at tactical strikes, effective totem deployment, and control over a diverse range of adversaries. While the details are yet to be confirmed, the Tactician is speculated to synergize well with the newly introduced Crossbow item class, making Ranger one of the most exciting new Path of Exile 2 classes.

Mastering the mystical forces with Sorceress

The Sorceress, a spellcaster centered around the potent force of Intelligence, promises a spellbinding experience that revolves around elemental destruction. Unlike her counterpart, the Witch, the Sorceress embraces multiple elements, wielding the power of lightning and ice with finesse. Her arsenal of skills includes “Spark,” a lightning attack that bounces between enemies, potentially striking entire rooms with its electrifying energy.

Meanwhile, “Ice Nova” offers an area-of-effect skill that slows down nearby foes, granting tactical advantages in combat. “Frost Bomb” proves to be a strategic choice, reducing enemies’ cold resistance and rendering them vulnerable to subsequent attacks. For enhanced survivability, the Sorceress can invoke “Arctic Armor,” a protective buff that boosts melee defense while dealing cold damage to attackers.

The pinnacle of her power is epitomized by “Comet,” a mana-intensive skill that delivers a devastating blow with a cast time, underscoring her prowess as a master of elemental magic.

Answer the ancestors’ call with Marauder

Prepare to witness the Marauder class undergo a transformation like never before in Path of Exile 2, as two new Ascendancy classes emerge to redefine the way players conquer the challenges of Wraeclast. These Ascendancy classes promise a strategic evolution of gameplay, allowing players to embrace unique tactical approaches and unleash devastating power on their foes. It’s important to remember that these details are subject to potential changes as the game’s development unfolds.

The Reaver Ascendancy class sets the stage for a paradigm shift in how players engage with combat. Placing a special emphasis on supporting allies and withstanding formidable enemy assaults, the Reaver stands as a true game-changer. Ideal for those who revel in cooperative party play, this Ascendancy class introduces an intriguing synergy between players, creating opportunities for strategic coordination and bolstering team dynamics.

Another intriguing addition to the Marauder’s arsenal in Path of Exile 2 is the Ancestor Ascendancy class. Rooted in the concept of invoking ancestral spirits to wage war against adversaries, the Ancestor wields the power of these ethereal beings to empower the player and strike fear into the hearts of foes. While the released artwork and limited information shared by Grinding Gear Games hint at its capabilities, a more detailed understanding of this class awaits us.

Learning the wisdom from the past with Monk

Monk presents an exciting departure from traditional melee combat. As one of the new Path of Exile 2 classes, Monk offers a skillful balance between Intelligence and Dexterity. The Monk’s martial finesse and power charges form the cornerstone of his effectiveness in battle. “Killing Palm,” one of his signature skills, not only marks enemies for culling but also bestows power charges upon their demise.

This symbiotic relationship between his techniques and power charges ensures a constant ebb and flow of devastating strikes. “Falling Thunder” showcases the Monk’s affinity for lightning as he summons a potent AoE attack that grows in intensity with each power charge accumulated.

The Monk’s mobility takes center stage in “Whirling Assault,” a dynamic skill that not only deals multiple hits but also grants the ability to maneuver fluidly during its execution.

And for effective crowd control, “Wind Blast” commands the wind to push enemies away, making it an indispensable tool for managing encounters.

That’s all we know about new Path of Exile 2 classes for now, but we are sure that GGG will once again give ARPG lovers a great experience, but the question is: When?
