As anticipated, Meta’s brand-new Threads app has now overtaken all others in terms of rate of growth. Threads has reached 100 million users in only 5 days and the
The eagerly awaited Twitter alternative, which went live on Wednesday last week a day early than anticipated, immediately sped to 30 million sign-ups within 24 hours of release. Within a few hours, it increased to 50 million, and within less than two days, it reached 70 million.
The fastest app to 100 million users is Threads, surpassing the 100 million sign-up threshold. In just five days, the text-based Instagram app Threads reached the milestone of 100 million signups. According to a tracker, the Twitter competitor went live on June 6 (or June 5 in the Americas).
Adam Mosseri confirmed the 100-million milestone of Threads
Instagram’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, also acknowledged the achievement. “100 million people signed up for Threads in five days. I’m not sure I can wrap my mind around that fact. It’s insane; I can’t make sense of it,” he said.
“The team has been busting their ass, but we know this is a race to the starting line. They say “make it work, make it great, make it grow.” Well, we certainly did things out of order, but I promise we will make this thing great,” Mosseri added.
On the first day, Mark Zuckerberg observed that the app garnered 2 million new signups in just two hours, 5 million in just four hours, and 10 million new users in just seven hours. The CEO of Meta reported the following morning that over 30 million individuals had signed up to test the new software. Given that Threads hasn’t even opened in the EU yet due to privacy concerns, its rise is significant.
Threads is not for politics, says 2nd person to join threads
As of this writing, OpenAI’s ChatGPT bot held the title of one of the consumer goods with the quickest rate of growth after accumulating 10 million daily users in 40 days and 100 million monthly users in over two months. Even though Threads has only been up for a month, it has already surpassed the 100 million mark for monthly active users. The real issue, though, will be to keep consumers on the site.
The new text-focused social platform from Meta is being utilized by many people, although some functions are still lacking. Notably, ActivityPub, the protocol used for posts on decentralized networks, is not supported by the app. Although Meta claimed to be working on it, the app won’t truly be a part of the fediverse until the integration launches.
