The article discusses how Instagram is incorporating AI capabilities, including the development of an Instagram AI chatbot, following the trend of social media platforms embracing AI technology, with the aim of enhancing user experiences and engagement, although the specific features and release timeline of the Instagram AI chatbot remain uncertain.
Instagram AI chatbot is just one example of how social media platforms are evolving to incorporate AI capabilities, which are quickly becoming an integral part of people’s daily lives. An app that did some digging on Twitter revealed that the Meta-owned app has been testing the chatbot in Instagram DMs.
Given the meteoric rise of AI in the social media business, it’s not surprising that Meta, one of the world’s largest technological firms, is incorporating more AI-powered solutions into its platforms. Facebook has already begun incorporating AI into a number of its features; now is the time to broaden that implementation with the Instagram AI chatbot.
What will the Instagram AI chatbot be like?
Some of its features were tweeted out by Alessandro Paluzzi, along with screenshots to prove their veracity. Paluzzi is an app researcher that has been known to leak information on upcoming features and even new apps across many platforms.
The Instagram AI chatbot, as Paluzzi puts it, “will be able to answer questions and give advice.” In addition, there will be 30 unique personas from which the user can select to receive a response.
- Respond to inquiries.
- Provide guidance.
- Pick from one of thirty unique characters.
- Motivate your imagination.
See the graphic below to see how the Instagram AI chatbot may “bring AI to your chats for a more fun and engaging experience.” You can get answers to your queries, advice from one of thirty various personalities, and even some assistance with your writing as you experiment to discover the greatest fit for your personality.

Instagram is planning to add an AI to its mobile app
Instagram would be following in the footsteps of Snapchat, which released its own chatbot built on ChatGPT called “My AI” a few months ago if it were to follow suit. However, it was not well received because of offensive comments including those that promoted pedophile relationships.
So, whether Instagram’s AI will be more advanced is still up in the air. However, Meta will have its hand’s full making ensuring that all 30 personas live up to their users’ expectations.
Unfortunately, Instagram’s AI is currently in the development phase and is not yet available on the app. As a result, Meta may decide to put a stop to it before it spreads to the general public. We anticipate, however, that Instagram will want to join the AI bandwagon given the current craze for AI and the subsequent stock market success of companies like NVIDIA.
AI experiments were previously announced for the Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram platforms by Meta. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, stated in February that the company’s ultimate aim was to develop “AI-based characters who can help people in various ways.”
On Instagram, he said the firm was using AI to improve ad targeting and filter performance, but that ideas for a multi-personality chatbot were still in the works. Instagram may eventually include this functionality, but how and when is yet unknown.
