Today, Meta launched an AI Sandbox for marketers, text-based backdrop production, picture cropping for Facebook or Instagram advertisements, and alternative copy creation.
The first feature enables businesses to create many iterations of the same content for various audiences while attempting to maintain the ads’ primary message similarity. The background-generating function makes it simpler to build various marketing elements.
Last but not least, the picture cropping tool aids businesses in producing images in various aspect ratios for various platforms, including social posts, tales, and short films like Reels.
Generative AI aims to streamline ad creation
According to the business, certain advertisers now have access to these functionalities, but more advertisers will have access starting in July.
“At the moment, we’re collaborating with a limited number of marketers to swiftly obtain input that we can utilize to improve these products. With plans to include some of these capabilities into our products later this year, we will start progressively extending access to more advertisers in July, it added in a blog post.
After stating last month that the business was aiming to deploy generative AI technology for marketing, Meta made its announcement.
“[I] anticipate that some of them [the commercialization of the technology] will begin this year. The generative AI team was recently formed a few months ago, and they are now highly active. Along with Mark Zuckerberg and [Chief Product Officer] Chris Cox, it’s probably where I spend the most time, Bosworth said in an interview with Nikkei Asia at the time.
For Q1 2023, Meta recorded favorable quarterly performance. For the first time in three quarters, the firm outperformed analyst predictions and reported a year-over-year sales increase. While the digital behemoth has begun developing various AI capabilities, Mark Zuckerberg stated that it hasn’t wavered from its commitment to the advancement of the metaverse.
Some ad tech businesses are significantly investing in it even though Meta is just offering a few lightweight generative AI tools for marketers. Omneky employed OpenAI’s DALLE-2 and GPT-3 to produce advertisements. In addition, Movio, which has funding from Sequoia Capital China, IDG, and Baidu Ventures, uses generative AI to produce marketing films.
