In this post, we’ll go over the Xiaomi 13 Ultra release date, characteristics, and pricing. Xiaomi will conduct a global launch event for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The smartphone will also be revealed in China at the same time.
While no official confirmation has been made, Xiaomi may reveal other goods during the Xiaomi 13 Ultra launch event. The Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet series is also expected to go official on the same date.
When is Xiaomi 13 Ultra release date?
Xiaomi has announced that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra release date will be April 18, 2023.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra (or 13s Ultra) is expected to be released in the first half of 2023. It is the Xiaomi 12S Ultra’s replacement.
According to reports, it will address the most serious flaws of its predecessor. But these are not the only features that are expected from Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Marking another milestone for the strategic cooperation between Xiaomi and @leica_camera, and the mobile photography world.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Expected features
The followings are the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s expected features.
Camera
The IMX 989 sensor utilized for the main sensor in the previous 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Pro will be retained in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. There are various credible sources to back this assertion. For better images, the IMX 989 on the 13 Ultra will be better adjusted and optimized.
They will continue to work with Leica. Leica assists Xiaomi with picture processing, and two settings are available: Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant. The Authentic mode strives to capture colors as they are but with increased contrast.
The IMX 858 is likely to be used for both 3X and 5X zoom on the 13 Ultra. It’s a good pairing, mostly because it restores intermediate zoom, which has been lost since the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.
The 1/2′′ 5X zoom camera on Xiaomi’s 12S Ultra was fantastic, but the IMX 858 is largely 1/1.7′′ in size. That is much larger than 1/2′′. Others believe that the IMX 858 is not a novel sensor.
- 1″ IMX 989 Variable Aperture (23mm, Primary)
- 1/2.4″ or 1/1.7″ IMX 858 for 3X, 0.6X, and 5X zoom.
- Leica Colour Tuning.
- Glass lens for reducing lens flare, 7P lens.
- Surge S2 Chip.
Display
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra’s display was highly criticized for employing a Samsung E5 AMOLED panel. Even when compared to the E4, the E5 AMOLED featured a blue shift and poor viewing angles.
Apart from that, the panel was excellent. It boasts a 1440P resolution and a variable refresh rate of 120Hz, with Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+ compatibility.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is likely to use a Samsung E6 AMOLED display. On paper, the specifications will stay the same. The resolution will remain 1440P, with an adaptive LTPO 4.0 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
- Samsung E6 AMOLED Display with 120Hz 1440P LTPO 4.0 Dolby Vision HDR.
Charging and Battery
Xiaomi is unlikely to do anything out of the ordinary here. The 13 Ultra will most likely use the same 50W wireless and 10W reverse Wireless charging technology.
Wired charging may be improved to 120W, and capacity could be increased to 5000 mAh. The Surge P1 charging chip will also help with charging.
Surge P1 allows for quick and safe 120W charging. Given that 120W has found its way down to Xiaomi’s $300 phones, sticking with the old 67W makes little sense. For the 12S Ultra, the chip might be improved.
Cooling and performance
Xiaomi has already utilized the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SOC on the Xiaomi 13 Pro with no reported heating issues, proving its reliability. The performance of the 12S Ultra’s 8+ Gen 1 was exceptional, thanks to Xiaomi’s software optimization.
The 13 Ultra is expected to be a powerful performer due to the efficient 4nm Node from TSMC, which provides a balance between performance, thermals, and power consumption. Additionally, the device is rumored to have a vapor chamber cooling system for heat dissipation.
The 8 Gen 2 will also enhance battery life, which was already impressive in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. With proper tuning, the 13 Ultra may even surpass the battery life of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra price prediction
Globally, the 13 Ultra might be priced at 1099$ or 1199$, right alongside the top choices.
