Poe Chatbot, an app developed by Quora, has introduced a new feature that allows users to create their chatbot using prompts combined with an existing bot as the base, giving users access to the latest AI technologies and language models while the app ensures ethical use and safe environment through its strict platform guidelines, with plans to cover all costs involved in operating this feature and developing an API that would allow for even more complex bots in the future.

Poe, an innovative app developed by the popular Q&A website Quora, has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to create their chatbot using prompts combined with an existing bot, such as ChatGPT, as the base.

This feature was launched in February, and with chatbots becoming increasingly important in the world of web search and Q&A, the company decided to expand its offerings by allowing users to experiment with the latest AI technologies from companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic via a simple mobile interface.

What is Poe Chatbot?

Poe Chatbot only supported a handful of general knowledge chatbots, but last month it rolled out subscriptions that allow users to access more powerful bots based on new language models, including GPT-4 from OpenAI and Claude+ from Anthropic. Poe Chatbot is currently the only consumer-facing internet product with access to Claude or Claude+, which makes it a unique offering.

One of the main benefits of Poe Chatbot’s new feature is that it allows users to create their bots using prompts. Prompts are essentially ways of directing a chatbot to perform specific tasks.

With better prompts, better outputs can be achieved, and this has led to the emergence of a new creator class in the field of prompt engineering.

The app provides users with a unique URL for their bot, which can be accessed via Poe’s iOS or Android app, mobile web, or desktop web interface.

Moreover, Poe’s platform guidelines strictly restrict a variety of use cases that could be problematic, such as hate speech, violence, illegal activities, fraud, IP infringement, and others. This ensures that the app remains safe and ethical for all users.

Revolutionizing Q&A with Poe Chatbot

The company plans to cover all costs involved in operating this feature, including the LLM fees that could get expensive if any bots become popular. In the future, Quora plans to offer bot creators feedback about how people are using their bot, so they can iterate on improvement.

Later on, the company also plans to develop an API that would allow anyone to host a bot from a server they operate, which would allow for even more complex bots.

Innovative features of Poe Chatbot

To date, the mobile app version of Poe has 1.17 million installs and has generated $520,000 in gross revenue. The app is currently ranked No. 32 in the Productivity category on the App Store. You can click here to download Poe:

While Poe Chatbot is not the only mobile app catering to mobile users, consumer demand for it has been growing steadily.

In conclusion, Poe’s new feature is an exciting development for users who want to experiment with chatbot creation and use cutting-edge AI technologies.

With its strict platform guidelines and focus on ethical use, the app promises to provide a safe and engaging environment for users to explore the possibilities of chatbots.

As Quora continues to innovate and expand its offerings, it will be interesting to see how Poe Chabot evolves and how it shapes the future of web search and Q&A.
