Spotify Niche Mixes are the most recent example of what makes Spotify a platform that is a music streamer’s paradise. Every few months, Spotify staff come up with innovative new ways for customers to lose themselves in great music such as the most recent ones: Spotify introduces TikTok-esque features: Meet Marquee, Discover and Showcase. However, the latest of these is “Niche Mixes,” which goes beyond standard personalized playlist recommendations. Here is all the information you need to know about it, including where to locate it on Spotify and how to use it effectively.
Your listening suggestions sometimes take the form of Spotify Mixes, a feature that many users love. In their never-ending hunt for the ideal playlist to fit the occasion, listeners have spent countless hours delving into their emotions with tailored Mood Mixes, reminiscing with custom Decades Mixes, and finding new artists we believe they’ll love with Genre Mixes.
Currently, the business is growing the Spotify Mixes family with Niche Mixes, a collection of customized playlists that creatively mixes everything your Mixes have to offer. Spotify offers users access to tens of thousands of Mixes that are specifically tailored to them and are based on, well, nearly anything.
What exactly are Spotify Niche Mixes?
Niche Mixes, as the name implies, is a tool that creates playlists based on the songs you enjoy and sneaks in a few you might like.
If you’ve been a regular user of Spotify for a while, the service is likely to already be familiar with your musical preferences, the specialized genres you occasionally go toward, and undiscovered musicians who are right up your alley.
There are more ways to get niche mixes outside of pre-made playlists. To find more of these “Niche blends” playlists, Spotify suggests searching for a “activity, vibe, or style” — essentially, whatever feeling you want your songs to have.
How to find Spotify Niche Mixes on mobile?
Simply browse to the Designed For You hub under the Search tab to find 5–10 Mixes we believe you’ll enjoy and access your niche mixes. Search for an activity, mood, or style that best captures the situation you’re in, and then add the term “mix” at the end if you want to be extremely exact. You can find more music by searching for more Mixes. Nevertheless, let’s get visual and see a step-by-step guide, shall we?
- On your iPhone or Android, launch the Spotify app. Then click Search down at the bottom.
- Tap on the Made For You card.
- Your Niche Mixes will be further down on the page.
- Check out the ten specialized mixes Spotify has selected for you by swiping.
You’ll find exactly the type of music you like on some of these. Strangely enough, you will also come across a few albums with titles that have nothing to do with the genre of music you enjoy, but the songs they contain will be well-known to you.
Go back to your search for a mood and add the phrase “mix” at the end if you don’t discover anything worthwhile to go into. Here, you are free to be as inventive as you like.
How to find Spotify Niche Mixes on desktop?
The ‘Your Niche Mixes’ row is not visible on the Spotify desktop app. At least not yet. But, if you listen to one of these mixes on the mobile app, you may locate it in your recently played list on Spotify’s desktop client’s Home page.
Also, like with the mobile app, the desktop software’s search function lets you look for certain specialty mixes.
Many mixes, including Decade Mixes, Mood Mixes, Daily Mixes, Artist Mixes, etc. are already available on the “Made for You” card. The most recent “Niche Mixes” appear to be bringing a fresh flavor to the mix. The goal is to add innovation and variety to the same old playlists that we frequently play repeatedly. If you want to become even more familiar with the feature, you can check out the announcement page of Spotify.
