Some Hogwarts Legacy players are confused about the recipe made by Shrivelfig fruit.
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are a total of 7 potions that can be brewed. In order to unlock all the potion recipes and ingredients, you must first complete Main Quest #13: Potions Class. This quest will give you access to the potions station, where you can start brewing the potions. The first two recipes, Wiggenweld & Endurus, will be unlocked after completing the main quest. The other potion recipes can be purchased from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade for 3,700 money.
One of the potions, the “Thunderbrew Recipe”, can be created by mixing Leech Juice, Shrivelfig Fruit, and Stench of the Dead. The Leech Juice can be obtained from leeches found near water in the open world, while the Shrivelfig Fruit can be grown at the potting table or purchased from “The Magic Neep” in Hogsmeade. The Stench of the Dead can be dropped by zombie-type enemies. This potion will create a storm around the drinker, stunning and damaging nearby enemies, with a brewing time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Below you can find the description of Shrivelfig fruit, according to Harry Potter Wiki:
“The flowers of the Shrivelfig grew inside the fruit, both of which were purple in colour. It was a deciduous plant, meaning that its leaves start to shed in autumn, and the plant is leafless during winter. However, due to its aggressive roots, the plant can still survive even in snowy conditions. The leaves had medicinal properties. When the fruit was skinned, which was actually the plant’s flower and contained blossoms inside, it produced a purple liquid with potion-making properties. The Shrinking Solution and the Elixir to Induce Euphoria were two potions for which Shrivelfigs were used in. The ingredient could be purchased at the Apothecary in Diagon Alley for three Galleons.”
The history of Shrivelfig fruit in the universe of Hogwarts Legacy
The Shrivelfig fruit was taught in Herbology class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the 1987-1988 school year. The plants used in the class were imported from Abyssinia. Professor Pomona Sprout shared with the students that Severus Snape was fond of the Shrivelfigs and Nymphadora Tonks was inspired to dye her hair purple after seeing the plant. In early 1993, students were tasked with pruning Shrivelfigs during Herbology class.
Harry Potter ran into Ernie Macmillan while disposing of withered stalks and the two of them worked on the same plant alongside Hannah Abbott. During this lesson, they noticed spiders heading towards the Forbidden Forest. Later that same year, Severus Snape taught his third-year Potions students how to make the Shrinking Solution and tasked Harry Potter with peeling the required Shrivelfigs for Draco Malfoy, who claimed he couldn’t do it himself due to an injury.
