What is Forspoken about?
For our readers who are curious about the answer to the question What is Forspoken about, we would like to start by saying that we haven’t finished the game yet.
So what is forspoken about? Well, beginning with Frey Holland, a young Black lady who was born abandoned in the Holland Tunnel with nothing but a blanket bearing her name, Forspoken introduces the narrator to her as she stands trial for attempting to steal a car. Due to the repeat offender statute, sometimes known as the three strikes law, and the fact that Frey has committed three felonies, the judge is considering punishing her severely. But given that Christmas is quickly approaching and that the judge understands how difficult it must be for Frey to live without parents or other adult role models, she is instead allowed to return to the abandoned apartment she shares with her cat Homer.
In order not to give spoilers, we would like to give small details about the gameplay while ending your what is Forspoken about question for the sake of the story.
Movement at its finest
Particularly the movement appears to be something that fans will enjoy. Dashing around is always cool, right? But Frey also has a lasso that she can use to haul herself up cliffs. similar to Aloy from Horizon.
But keep in mind that you can’t just do that for nothing. If you don’t keep an eye on your stamina bar, it will ultimately run out. Don’t use all these skills before jumping into a boss fight because stamina is also used during combat.

Who are the characters in Forspoken?
We managed to give a spoiler-free answer to the question of what is Forspoken about. It’s time to introduce the characters to you. On the page published by Square Enix for the game, 5 main characters are mentioned. Of course, you interact with much more than these 5 characters in the game.
Here are the main characters in Forspoken:
- Alfre ”Frey” Holland
- Cuff
- Tanta Sila
- Tanta Prav
- Tanta Olas
Alfre ”Frey” Holland
Growing up in New York City, Frey Holland was used to feeling like an outsider, but after being inexplicably transferred to Athia, a strange world with people, locations, and cultures unlike anything Frey has ever seen, she is rapidly pushed to her limits. She finds the capability to cast potent spells and use magic to navigate the vast landscapes of Athia after being unceremoniously transferred there.
She embarks on a search for a route home with her enchanted, sentient bracelet, “Cuff.” Frey will be forced to confront the powerful Tantas, combat terrifying creatures, and unearth truths that will awaken something much deeper from within during her adventure through this weird and dangerous realm.
Cuff
When Frey is brought to Athia, a cuff appears on her right arm. A magical, sentient bracelet that helps Frey navigate the perilous terrain of Athia while teaching her how to perform spells. He regularly cracks cynical jokes with Frey, the only person who can hear him speak, thanks to his sharp wit. Frey is assisted by her new, cynical friend “Cuff” as she travels through the expansive expanses of Athia.
Tanta Sila
The wicked and perverse matriarchs that rule over Athia are the most powerful and formidable of the Tantas. Sila is a tyrannical despot with a reputation for ruthlessly destroying anything and everyone who gets in her way.
Tanta Prav
The Tantas now rule as insane, malevolent sorceresses in the middle of their fragmented realms. Prav is irrational and judgmental, serving as the realm’s judge, jury, and executioner. She punishes people she deems to be guilty in a hasty manner because she believes everyone around her is doing wrong. She robs her people of morality and genuine justice.
Tanta Olas
Olas, the Tanta of Wisdom, is consumed by her need for knowledge. She will lock anyone she perceives as a threat inside an illusionary world and use her magic to absorb other people’s thoughts in order to learn new information.
If we talked about the characters of What is Forspoken about, we can now finish because if we want to give a little more information, we need to give spoilers. If you started playing the game where the story is considered almost “unfinished”, you will have to enter a Guild at some point in the game. How to do it? Check out our Forspoken Kloros guild guide!
