Whether you like it or not, the fast-food industry is changing! A fully automated McDonalds has just opened in Texas and it operates without any employees. A fast-food chain with just robots and no-people in it and this is what future may look like.
McDonald’s recently developed a fully automated restaurant in Texas that is entirely controlled by machines, removing the need for human interaction and dividing online users. The fully automated McDonalds was recently visited by a user of the video-sharing app TikTok who goes by the online name ”foodiemunster”.
@foodiemunster @McDonald’s has a new test concept
While some people are intrigued by the concept, others find it a little disturbing, the brand-new fully automated McDonalds, which is situated just outside of Fort Worth, uses cutting-edge technology to allow clients to order their food and receive their meals without having to deal with any humans.
What does the company say about fully automated McDonalds?
The company has published a blog post promoting fully automated McDonalds. Explaining the concept of the restaurant in its blog post, McDonalds said that fully automated McDonalds is much more effective and faster than the classic drive-thru system, and reinforced this claim with a test-it-yourself title.
The Order Ahead Lane is the Drive Trough’s new name
Utilizing technology, fully automated McDonalds restaurant staff is able to start preparing clients’ orders as soon as they are close to the establishment thanks to the Order Ahead Lane. This location’s improved technology benefits the dedicated restaurant staff as well.
Updates to the restaurant’s app, a conveyor for food and drinks, and a new kitchen layout all expedite operations, providing a quick and smooth experience for both guests and staff.
“The technology in this restaurant not only allows us to serve our customers in new, innovative ways, it gives our restaurant team the ability to concentrate more on order speed and accuracy, which makes the experience more enjoyable for everyone,”
-Keith Vanecek, franchise owner of the fully automated McDonalds
Fully automated McDonalds is designed for customers on the move
You’ll notice that the test restaurant concept is much smaller inside than a typical McDonald’s in the United States. Why? Customers who intend to eat in or on the go will benefit from the features both inside and outside.
There is a delivery pick-up area within the restaurant where couriers may swiftly and easily pick up orders. Additionally, there are order pick-up shelves and kiosks where consumers can place their orders to go. There are multiple parking spots outside the restaurant intended for curbside order pickup as well as parking spaces reserved for delivery vehicles.
The internet is split over fully automated McDonalds
User reviews about fully automated McDonalds, which is the focus of many shares on social media platforms, are quite mixed. Some users say it’s a great step in hygiene and they don’t have to be afraid of their orders getting mixed up, while others say that they want to see human employees smiles in the drive-through window, underlining the importance of human contact.
We laughed a lot at the AI joke made by Twitter user Trey the Explainer.
