With the new update Infinity Ward brought in a few goodies and players are looking out for the hyped MW2 DMZ Building 21 location. We’ll be telling you a few things about it. Building 21 is a mysterious new building that has appeared in Warzone 2‘s DMZ mode; here’s how to reach it.
The DMZ has already been a huge hit, and Warzone gamers are liking the more relaxed take on the extraction shooter gameplay. But whether or not Infinity Ward continues to support the mode will actually determine whether or not the DMZ buzz is here to stay. Thankfully, Season 1 Reloaded includes the first DMZ update for Al Mazrah.
The significant update adds a brand-new building to explore, and it may be the most lethal site yet in the DMZ.
What is DMZ Building 21?
Building 21 is a biological facility and one of the most dangerous places in the DMZ. Inside the facility, players can locate extremely high-tier contraband, and Activision promised further mysteries to be discovered.
Unfortunately, even once inside, you will require more keycards to access some specific parts of the facility.
The building is not presently available in the game, but dataminers have gained access to it and created a complete tour.
This tour takes you into the “Defense Research Center,” a big facility. This location has several rooms, including:
- Fitness Centre
- Reception Area
- Office Floor – 1st Floor
- Stairwell
- Basement Hallways
- Garage
- Laboratory Floor – Second Floor
It also shows an “Evacuation Elevator” located on the Laboratory floor. This is presumably how players will be able to exfil from this location.

When will the MW2 DMZ Building 21 location be revealed?
Building 21 is not present in Al Mazrah, being the first DMZ location to be outside of the map. At this moment, MW2 DMZ Building 21 location is unknown as it has not been made live in-game yet.
Infinity Ward will not announce when Building 21 is going live and will secretly update DMZ with it instead. Infinity Ward intended not to release Building 21 with the Season 1 Reloaded update. To find the MW2 DMZ Building 21 location players will have to work themselves. Though when the update reveals the location, we’ll let you know.
How to obtain a key to Building 21?
At the moment, the only method to obtain a Keycard for Building 21 is to loot a supply crate. In the DMZ, there are two routes to get to supply crates:
- Capturing a SAM Site in DMZ
- Capture SAM Site to target a supply plane
- Look for the yellow plane icon on the map
- This will drop a Supply Crate to a random location on the map!
- Head to this location and loot the crate
- Set Supply Crates
- These will drop into the map once the countdown timer hits 10 minutes
- Look for the yellow plane icon on the map
- This plane will drop three Supply Crates along its path
- Head to the location of a Supply Crate
You may need to loot multiple Supply Crates to find a Building 21 Keycard as it is not known if they will spawn in each crate.
This keycard was discovered within a DMZ supply crate by content creator Yungstaz from Twitter. This keycard is similarly likely to be discovered in the same way as the other keys in DMZ. This is accomplished by hunting for treasure caches scattered over the map. Building 21 is not yet operational, make sure you take the keycard as soon as you locate it, it’ll allow you to enter the destination as soon as it appears in the game. However, one thing is certain: The all-new Chimera Assault Rifle will be in the DMZ Building 21!
Sorry for not being able to reveal the MW2 DMZ building 21 location to you yet. But we’ll make it up to you soon. In the meantime, would you like to check out How to unlock M13B weapon in MW2?
