If you are one of those players who doesn’t like to play OP heroes, you’ll be happy to hear that some Overwatch 2 Doomfist buffs are coming with Season 2.
Doomfist players and those who don’t play Sojourn in Overwatch 2 should rejoice. The strong Sojourn, who has been dominating the ladder with her high damage and one-shot potential, will finally be subject to Reinhardt’s balance hammer after a contentious decision to not nerf her during Season 1’s balance patch.
Along with Sojourn in Overwatch 2 shortly receiving a nerf, Doomfist (recently reworked as a tank hero) has been struggling in the ladder. That is why Blizzard decided to bring in some Overwatch 2 Doomfist buffs. There will be balancing adjustments for other characters like Mercy and Ana too.
Which heroes are nerfed in Season 2?
Overwatch 2’s Season 2 is quickly approaching, and Blizzard has provided a ton of information on what to expect.
According to statistics and player comments, Sojourn is essentially a must-pick at the highest levels of Competitive Play given her supremacy, according to Blizzard. She continues to be “a challenge for players without the same mechanical skills,” that is, lower-ranking players whose aim might not be as perfect.
“To address the high-skill feedback, we’ll be focusing on the lethality of her Rail Gun at distance for Season 2, encouraging players to make use of Sojourn’s high mobility to close the distance for the more devastating right-clicks,” Blizzard said.
We find that to be an interesting solution, especially in light of Sojourn’s Ultimate. High-skill players may soon no longer be able to strike Q and eliminate the entire opposing team with headshots from a great distance as Overclock recharges Rail Gun quickly.
Sojourn is a dominant choice in high-ladder battles due to her excellent mobility and capacity for fast kills, which have been key components in many team fights. To make Sojourn engage in more close-quarters combat, Blizzard is getting ready to bring the nerf hammer.
Blizzard claimed that it intends to reduce her lethality at great distances and require her to use her tremendous mobility to bring the fight closer to all of the action, though exact figures have not been disclosed. Given that Sojourn was consistently able to dominate at all ranges, this seems like a reasonable compromise.
About Overwatch 2 Doomfist buffs
In Season 1, Doomfist has not been a frequently chosen hero. Doomfist can frequently overextend and die a little too early, despite the fact that his mobility and capacity to wreck havoc on the backline are still as strong as ever. Doomfist hasn’t found his niche in Overwatch 2 despite the dive-focused meta, so Blizzard will give him some upgrades to help. The developers will offer some Overwatch 2 Doomfist buffs to enable him to function better as a frontline. Blizzard must exercise caution when dealing with a hero that has a disruptive playstyle like Doomfist, though.
While balancing Sojourn and Doomfist, Season 2 of Overwatch 2 will also include the brand-new hero, Ramattra. Additionally, the patch will update the balances for Ana, Bastion, the Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra. Get in your final Season 1 grind before the new patch goes live on December 6 by downloading this new update.
A new map, a combat pass with a Greek mythology theme, a brand-new limited-time game mode, and more will all be included in Season 2. The Winter Wonderland and Lunar New Year events will both return over the season, and playing the game will let you unlock an event skin for each.
