Why is Overwatch 2 MEI disabled? We explain in this article. Following reports of issues with her Ice Wall ability, Blizzard has stated that Mei will be temporarily disabled from Overwatch 2. The statement claims that these flaws have given players access to undesired destinations. The team is currently working to resolve the problems, and on November 15 they hope to have the Arctic explorer back in action.

Overwatch 2 MEI disabled / removed: Why?
Some players have noticed issues with Mei’s Ice Wall failing to stop attacks or raise team members in addition to pushing characters into forbidden zones. In a video posted by Twitter user stefayylmao1, Kiriko enters an unnoticed region after dashing into Mei’s Ice Wall and exploits the opportunity to kill foes without getting hit.
Mei is not the first Overwatch 2 character to be removed. After gamers discovered issues with their respective powers, Torbjorn and Bastion were removed from the game earlier this month. On October 25, the duo and the Junkertown map were reintroduced to the game. The period of Torbjorn and Bastion’s withdrawal coincides exactly with Blizzard’s anticipated downtime for Mei, providing us a fair first impression of how bug fixes and other modifications will be included in the recently launched live service title.
