Divinity nerf Destiny 2 has appeared. After a few weeks of minor updates, Bungie on Thursday published a lengthy blog post for Destiny 2. The lengthy essay contains a ton of information on impending weapon and balancing adjustments.

We’ll primarily be talking about the Exotic adjustments in season 19 (which will premiere on December 6) and later in this article. Let’s discuss specifically about the upcoming adjustments to Divinity, the most contentious weapon in Destiny 2.

Divinity, which weakens foes, increases the amount of damage they receive, and leaves a huge crit area on their bodies, will no longer offer a 30% debuff on targets, but will instead only offer a 15% debuff. This substantial nerf should allow players to use alternative debuffs that have been sitting unused for a while.

About a month after the weapon sparked some controversy in the Destiny community, there has been a nerf. Three-time world champion raider Saltagreppo tweeted a thread about Divinity in September, essentially lamenting the fact that the item has been required for almost three years, ever when Shadowkeep’s Garden of Salvation raid introduced it to the game.

Divinity nerf discussion:
Hey, this is gonna be a thread.
I’ve been thinking about a way to nerf Divinity for quite a bit. The gun is basically mandatory for most Boss encounters and it makes aiming a non factor, which is very unhealthy for the game for multiple reasons, such as:

This greatly agitated the Destiny community. While some players branded Saltagreppo an elitist who wanted to make the game harder for people who weren’t streamers, others felt that the weapon ought to be nerfed. However, Bungie asserts that it has been testing a remedy for months. Some people may blame this nerf on the discussion Saltagreppo sparked about Divinity.

Overall, this nerf should provide Destiny 2’s raiding scenario, which has grown monotonous after years of employing Divinity, a little more variation.

In addition to the Divinity nerf, Bungie announced that 26 Exotics would undergo modifications in season 19, some of which are significant and others of which are only minor tweaks. The company is also trying to figure out how to bring subclass 3.0 verbs and Champion spectacular functionality to more exotics.

Bungie hinted in passing in the blog article about the upcoming replayed raid for Destiny 2. When asked what Bungie would do if the reprised raid either didn’t have an Exotic associated with it or the original raid Exotic had already been released to Destiny 2, Bungie responded that it would simply create a new Exotic that fit thematically with the raid.

The answer to this query hints that Bungie is considering adding Wrath of the Machine, the fourth and last original Destiny raid, to Destiny 2 in 2019. Outbreak Prime, the first Exotic raid in Wrath of the Machine, was revived by Bungie as Outbreak Perfected in Destiny 2 back in 2019. This is a rather apparent tease because Wrath of the Machine is the first Destiny raid to have its Exotic added to Destiny 2 sans the raid itself. The original Leviathan raid lairs in Destiny 2: Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars were the only other raids that didn’t debut with an Exotic at all.

Master raid weapons appeared

Adept raid weapons, which are only available from the extremely difficult Master version of the raid, were the subject of the blog post’s last significant revelation. Bungie wants to improve these weapons because they now lack the same appeal as the manufactured counterparts of the same weapons. Adept raid weapons will be able to drop with improved perks beginning in Lightfall. Bungie was explicit that players would still not be able to make Adept weaponry, though. Closer to the release date of Lightfall on February 28, 2023, the company promised to provide additional information regarding this new Adept system.
