Alliance: How to get to Northrend in WotLK Classic?
Taking a boat from Stormwind Harbor’s north dock is the quickest way to go from Stormwind to Northrend. This will lead you to one of the two potential starting zones for WotLK Classic, the Borean Tundra.
Howling Fjord is the other potential starting zone.
From Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands, you can take a boat directly to Howling Fjord. The Wetlands can be found in central Eastern Kingdoms, north of Ironforge and Dun Morogh, if you are desperately looking for it on your world map.
You can also go from Borean Tundra to Howling Fjord as an alternative. You’ll need to travel up the east coast of the Borean Tundra until you reach the Tuskarr village of Unu’pe in order to accomplish this. You can then travel by boat (turtle) to Dragonblight and then Howling Fjord from there.
Horde: How to get to Northrend in WotLK Classic?
Take the zeppelin from the western tower directly outside the southern city gates for the quickest route from Orgrimmar to Northrend. You will arrive at Warsong Hold in the Borean Tundra right away using this route. Just be careful not to board the zeppelin that also departs from the west tower for Thunder Bluff.
Instead, you can take the zeppelin from the tower outside of Brill and the Undercity in Tirisfall Glades to travel to Howling Fjord.
Once in Northrend, you can take the turtle transports that are available at the Tuskarr towns of Kamagua and Unu’pe to get from Howling Fjord to Borean Tundra.
On the Howling Fjord’s western coast is Kamagua. On the Borean Tundra’s east coast is where you can find Unu’pe.
Tips and tricks: How to get to Northrend in WotLK Classic?
To make traveling around the world a little easier, we’d suggest installing the Atlas and Atlas Transportation extensions. Atlas is, as you might have guessed, a map add-on for video games. A distinct add-on that depends on Atlas is Atlas Transportation.
The fantastic thing about Atlas Transportation is that it provides you with a numbered map that lists all the available portals, ships, zeppelins, and other modes of transportation. Have you ever heard of Questie WotLK? These WoW Classic addons will be really useful throughout the game!
