History of the Street Fighter series
The Street Fighter franchise is one of the most successful brands in fighting games of all time. Although the first one received a lot of attention when it came out in 1987, it was Street Fighter 2, which was released in 1991, that really exploded. Street Fighter 2, which has become the indispensable game of arcade halls, continued to maintain its popularity by adding new features and characters with additional names such as “Turbo” and “2,5”. With the transition from 8 characters to 12 characters, Bison, Sagat, Vega, and Balrog were added to the series as playable. Each of these characters has become one of the legends of the Street Fighter series.
Street Fighter 3, which was put on sale in the following years, fell far short of expectations. When the 3D Street Fighter, which was tried in those years, failed in class, the series remained silent for many years. Then, Street Fighter 4’s legend was almost born from the ashes. An advanced version of Street Fighter 2, 4 was exactly what the series’ regulars were looking for. The 5 that came after the 4th game did not take any risks by making no changes in terms of gameplay. We predict that the sixth game will not change in terms of gameplay with the same logic.
