Gaming Istanbul started on September 16 with the main sponsorship of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and support of OGEM and Medya A. and entertained its visitors for three days. On the second day, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu came to the area and met with the youth.
One of the eight largest gaming events in the world, Gaming Istanbul, took place this year from September 16 to 18. The Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, was present at the event and was one of the significant guests who saw the event’s three days of vivid imagery.
Games for PCs, consoles, and mobile devices, e-sports competitions, the debuts of new games, encounters with well-known publishers and fans, the newest hardware brand items, jam sessions, and independent creators interacted with the visitors. The FRP event space, cosplay area, retro playground, playground, free developer area, and shopping sections in Gaming Istanbul were enjoyed by visitors.
Hepsiburada, Intel, Lenovo, Aorus (Gigabyte), Red Bull, Unity, Aerosoft, Codeo, LG, Stargate, Bahçeşehir University Game Incubation Center BUG Lab TEKMER, Ancient Gears, Upgrade Entertainment, Wendigo Games, Gizala, Digigame Startup Studio, Zindhu, Brands and games such as FRPNET, Enucuzoyun and Bestgameprice met with visitors at Gaming Istanbul for three days.
This year at Gaming Istanbul, where new games are also featured; Pokemon Go game, blockchain-based role-playing game Rise Online, and Adanath, the adventure game of Sumerian mythology, developed by Ancient Gears company and presented to the players for the first time in the world with its demo version at Gaming Istanbul, were among the participants.

Gaming Istanbul 2022 Cosplay Competition
In the Gaming Istanbul 2022 Cosplay Competition, the participants portrayed various game, anime, cartoon, and movie characters with their unique costumes. While 25 contestants became finalists in the competition held on the main stage, the top three cosplayers were announced on Friday, September 18.
Indie time
Gaming Istanbul also opened up space for creativity and different perspectives needed by the industry by allowing free game developers to meet their games with visitors in the Indie area, which is allocated free of charge. The developers had the chance to find their games’ new publisher/investor by conducting professional interviews. The top 10 teams from independent developers, whose games received the most acclaim, introduced their games on the event’s last day. The top three teams were selected from the games and submitted to the voting of the jury members.
Dungeon Voxel took third place, and Clonizer took second place. Castle of Alchemists was awarded the indie game championship.

With the GIST-IBB LAN Party, which was held for the first time in Turkey with wide participation within the scope of Gaming Istanbul in the 360 Esports organization, gamers took their computer or mobile device with them for three days in the special LAN Party Area, including PUBG, Apex Mobile, New State Mobile, Beatstar, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Call Of Duty Mobile games.
72 hour challenge
The most well-known Jam event in Turkey, Cave Jam, was also held at Gaming Istanbul. As part of the Jam event, the teams brought their sleeping bags and created their own games with the “You’re the Bad Guy” theme for 72 hours in the venue.
Gaming Istanbul 2022 hosted Indieway, a business development conference and ecosystem for the gaming sector. Professionals in the gaming industry and independent game developers met over three days at conferences and meetings, holding their investor and business development meetings at Gaming Istanbul.
