Furthermore, both phones will retain the headphone connector, twin front-facing speakers, and the same camera configuration.
The color is where the 6D and 6D Ultimate depart from the standard formula. Both the 6D and 6D Ultimate will be available in a new matte color called Space Gray, according to Asus. Although the 6D will be the same weight as the other phones in the range, the 6D Ultimate will be 8g heavier. The 6D Ultimate will also include the ROG Vision display seen on the 6 Pro.

Internals
If you’re wondering what the “D” in the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate stands for, it’s Dimensity. Inside the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU. Asus has replaced the Snapdragon chip in the 6D and 6D Ultimate with Mediatek’s newest Dimensity 9000 Plus with a 5G chip. When asked about the switch, Asus stated, “Mediatek had a really compelling solution and they want to see the Dimensity 9000 Plus in a phone that can push it to its limits.”
In addition, the phones will come with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 SSD storage. As previously said, the 6D is merely designed to be an alternative choice to the current Phone 6 model, therefore 16GB of RAM makes sense. However, given the 6D Ultimate is intended to be a step up from the 6 Pro, it’s odd that it won’t feature the 6 Pro’s 18GB of RAM. Asus clarified this by noting, “LPDDR5X maximum is 16GB.” The GPU will also be changed in the 6D and 6D Ultimate. The previous versions used a Qualcomm Adreno 730 GPU, however, the new models will employ an ARM Mali-G710 GPU.
Battery life
The handsets would feature twin 3,000mAh batteries in terms of power. The 6D and 6D Ultimate will have the same amount of battery as the Phone 6 and 6 Pro, totaling 6,000mAh. Asus has included a variety of battery care options to aid improve battery life, such as the ability to set the charging limit to 80% or 90%. You may also set the device to charge in a consistent manner, which helps to keep the battery temperature down during charging. You may even choose when charging should begin.
Gaming
With the ROG Phone 6 series, Asus has focused on providing consumers with the finest gaming experience possible on a phone. To aid in this endeavor, Asus has brought back its AirTrigger 6 control system, which allows you to establish up to 14 distinct touch locations on the screen at the same time. The tablet also has Asus’ “Armoury Crate” gaming site and “Game Genie” interface.
Both phones feature Asus’ GameCool 6 CPU cooling system and will be compatible with the company’s AeroActive Cooler accessory to avoid overheating when gaming. Only the 6D Ultimate will include a heat dissipation door – AeroActive portal — that will work in tandem with the integrated GameCool 6 fan to further cool the device.
Accessories
The 6D and 6D Ultimate will be available with a slew of accessories. The ROG Kunai 3 Gamepad, for example, is a modular gamepad that connects to the phone. There’s also an extension dock that lets you connect the ROG Phone 6D to an HDMI monitor. There’s also a clip for attaching your phone to various console controllers. As previously stated, there is also the AeroActive Cooler attachment. This gadget will be packaged with the 6D Ultimate. Unfortunately, the ROG Phone 6D will not be the same.
Price and release date
If the ROG Phone 6D or 6D Ultimate seems appealing, you’ll have to wait for further information. At the present, there is no indication of how much these phones will cost or when they will be available for purchase. However, according to Asus, the 6D and 6D Ultimate will not be available in North American markets.
