In our WotLK jewelcrafting guide we tried to answer every question related to the jewelcrafting profession in the game. One of the most valued professions in World of Warcraft is jewelcrafting. Since it was introduced in TBC, players have been able to add stat-boosting jewels to their armor, and jewelers have been able to sell these cuts on the auction house for enormous sums.
You’ve swept through Azeroth and Outland. The troops of the Lich King now await you in the cold continent of Northrend. Take on the undead Scourge and the Lich King himself atop Icecrown Citadel. After its original release in 2008, the Lich King returns with Wrath of the Lich King on World of Warcraft Classic and you can check it out and try it for yourself by visiting its official site. Also, you can check out the most useful add-ons for the WotLK from our article. You can also check out our WotLK DPS ranking and tier list to learn the best damage dealing class in the game. Let’s get on with our WotLK jewelcrafting guide.
WotLK jewelcrafting guide
Below we tried to explain the fastest way to level up jewelcrafting in our WotLK jewelcrafting guide:
WotLK jewelcrafting guide: How do you level up jewel crafting?
We will start our WotLK jewelcrafting guide by explaining how to level up jewelcrafting. Blizzard increased the importance of jewelcrafting in WotLK’s endgame content. Any raider or endgame PvPers gear must contain cut gems like Sundered Eye of Zul, Regal Dreadstone, or Luminous Ametrine.
Additionally, with the inclusion of daily tokens, jewelers can buy patterns like Design: Nightmare Tear to make socket gems that add 10% to all stats. One of the many benefits Nightmare Tear brings to classes of all types is its adaptability.
Prospecting is a jeweler’s most important tool for finding stones. Players can then browse through unprocessed ore for gems to cut, obliterating the minerals in the process. Jewelcrafting is frequently used in conjunction with mining as a gathering vocation as a result. If not, prospecting for ore and cutting diamonds can be very expensive, and it might take some time before you break even.
WotLK jewelcrafting guide: Where do you learn jewelcrafting in WotLK?
Old World
Jewelcrafting in WotLK must still be learned from particular trainers, unlike other professions. These NPCs are only present in the new capital cities added in TBC, but they can guide you from Apprentice to Artisan. This means that the Alliance must travel to Exodar and speak with Farii, while the Horde must visit Silvermoon City and locate either Kalinda or Aleinia.
Outland
The training procedure becomes uniform with other professions after you reach Outland, and the Master trainers will be in the appropriate starting place for your faction. This will be handled by Kalaen in Thrallmar for the Horde, and Tatiana in Honor Hold can instruct the Alliance.
Neutral trainers are also present in Shattrath. You will be able to continue receiving instruction from Hamanar and Nemiha of the Aldor and Kirembri Silvermane of the Scryers.
Northrend
Similar to Outland, your first location of questing in Northrend will contain the Grand Master trainers. Alestos will instruct the Alliance at Valiance Keep, while Geba’li will instruct the Horde in Warsong Hold.
The neutral trainer that is closest to an auction house is Timothy Jones in Dalaran, and he can teach all of the previous trainer’s recipes. He is your best choice if you are power leveling and have access to Dalaran. Another possibility is Oluros in the Argent Tournament Grounds. Now we will explain required materials in the next section of our WotLK jewelcrafting guide.

WotLK jewelcrafting guide: What is the fastest way to level up jewelcrafting?
Let’s continue our WotLK jewelcrafting guide by explaining the fastest way to level up jewelcrafting. The overall change to crafting has had an effect on jewelcrafting because low-level items now offer much less experience than high-level things. In other words, at a high level, your usual hand-crafted amulets are now useless. However, there is one issue: Jewelcrafting is utterly broken in the most recent version of 1.1. It is now really difficult to level. We advise staying away from Jewelcrafting until these bugs are resolved.
Since the changes for leveling experience do not apply to Jewelcrafting, high-level Jewelcrafting products presently do not yield the amount of experience expected, even if they still require the same material sink.
It follows that you shouldn’t bother making Flawed Gem Amulets or other low-level items because, in principle, the adjustments should apply to high-level jewelcrafting products. High-level things ought to give you a lot more experience points. We must stress that this is not how the system currently operates.

WotLK offers extended levels of leveling, similar to Outland, where the type of cut and gem you choose is irrelevant as long as your skill level increases. Start by buying 50 to 60 of the WotLK green gems, then keep crafting until you have 395.

How do I get dalaran Jewelcrafter’s token?
You’ve capped once you’ve completed making your last meta cuts! Congratulations! Learn more about the Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Token and how to get high level recipes by completing daily tasks by reading on.
Dailies and Jewelcrafter’s Tokens
Dailies and Jewelcrafter’s Tokens are crucial and we have to explain them in our WotLK jewelcrafting guide. All players will require a Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Token to buy meta gem and epic gem designs. To buy new recipes, Blizzard implemented a daily quest and token reward system similar to that used by other professions in World of Warcraft. However, it is crucial for Jewelcrafters in particular because Tiffany Cartier in Dalaran’s Underbelly is the source of several endgame recipes.
Players must speak with Timothy Jones and complete the task in order to access the daily quests. As soon as they have attained skill level 375, complete the shipment. This will unlock all other daily quest options and only require you to bring Timothy one Chalcedony. Each daily entails gathering a particular item from several Northrend creatures and combining it with two WotLK Uncommon gems.
A good rule of thumb is to choose your daily missions based on the gems you have on hand or have quick access to through the AH, an alt, or your guild. Keep in mind that once you complete one of the daily tasks, all others are closed for the day.
The complete list of Dailies is:
- Shipment: Shifting Sun Curio

Epic Gems
We also have to explain Epic Gems in our WotLK jewelcrafting guide. Ametrine, Dreadstone, Cardinal Ruby, King’s Amber, Eye of Zul, and Majestic Zircon are the six distinct epic gems found in World of Warcraft: The Last King. These can be discovered in an icy prism, prospected from titanium ore, or transformed by an alchemist using a blue gem and an eternal element. Even while each of these gems is valuable on its own, they can be transformed into even more valuable forms by using daily tokens to purchase recipes.
You must be careful while selecting your recipes because, like the majority of designs, epic cuts will cost you 4 Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Tokens. Examining pricing patterns on the Auction House or determining which raw gems are the least expensive are two ways to determine which recipes are the most valuable. What your guild or PvP team needs, upcoming content, and how people will want to prepare for it are all key factors to take into account.
WotLK jewelcrafting guide: How do you get Dragons eye in Wotlk?
The only source of Dragon’s Eyes is a high level jeweler. The most typical method is for the jeweler to trade Tiffany Cartier in Dalaran one [Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Token] for one Dragon’s Eye. Additionally, jewelers have the ability to produce [Icy Prisms] every 20 hours, which have a 10% chance of containing a Dragon’s Eye.
Only gem cuts from the Dragon’s Eye are bindable. A Dragon’s Eye will become soulbound to the jeweler once it has been cut. The jeweler is permitted to cut an infinite number of these gems, but he is not permitted to wear jewelry that has more than three sockets at once. The jeweler may use multiple [Solid Dragon’s Eyes], for example, if they are all of the same type.
Additionally, dragon’s eyes are a necessary ingredient in the creation of various epic, bind-on-equip necklaces and rings.
WotLK jewelcrafting guide: How do I get illustrious Jewelcrafter’s token?
These tokens, which are given for exhibiting exceptional jewelcrafting talent, can be used to buy distinctive jewelcrafting plans and the magnificent Chimera’s Eye.
In the capital city of your faction (Stormwind City or Orgrimmar), you can complete daily missions for illustrious jewelcrafters to earn these tokens.
They are redeemable for level 465–525 jewelcrafting designs from the quartermaster of your faction. Vendors now offer recipes for epic cuts as of version 4.3.
