According to reports, the new PS5 model (1200 Series) will go on sale in Japan on September 15. This design appears to have undergone alterations primarily to internal components. Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki stated during an investor Q&A session that they planned to revise some of the PS5 console’s procurement and design in order to optimize production efficiency, increase shipment, and hit their sales target.
At least in Japan, it appears that this new console will soon be available. It has been posted online by several merchants and will go on sale on September 15. This is happening at the same time as the PS5’s price is rising across the board, including in Japan, where the device will launch on September 15.
Even while this new console might have some internal alterations, it is difficult to tell what specifically has changed until someone has opened it up. When a similar design change was last seen, the heatsink and other internal components underwent modest alterations. The same might apply in this situation as well.
The PlayStation 5 is still quite popular, and there is still a lot more demand than there are available units of the device. However, Sony is determined to increase supply. The updated system may be a step in that direction, but the price hike may offset some of the anticipated sales growth given its rival, the Xbox Series X, hasn’t had a comparable price increase.
New DualSense introduced last week
At Gamescom, a new DualSense Edge controller was showcased. Sony appears to be responding to Xbox’s Elite controller line with the DualSense Edge controller, a high-end controller that was initially introduced at Opening Night Live.
A new PS Blog entry described the extremely configurable controller, which lets you define unique control mappings and even deactivate specific buttons.

The controller shares a lot of visual similarities with the conventional DualSense, but it has a few extra features to make it more upscale. Expect customizable dead zones and swappable thumb stick covers, exactly like with the Xbox controller. Comparison: DualSense Edge vs Xbox Elite Series 2 controller
With the new PS5 Model (1200 Series) and DualSense Edge Wireless controller, a new era begins for Sony PS5 users. For now, the PS5 Model (1200 Series) will only be available in Japan. There is no information yet on when it will reach other continents. It is noteworthy that the release date set for the new PS5 Model (1200 Series) is also the day when the PS5s will increase in price in Japan.
How much a PS5 now costs?
A formal announcement from Sony regarding PS5 costs has been made. The business declared that it has adjusted PS5 prices globally. Sony raised the costs of the PS5 by adopting a varied pricing strategy to regional and economic variances. According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, the suggested retail price for the PlayStation 5 has gone up in a number of areas as a result of the current status of the global economy. The PlayStation 5 was priced to compete with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X with a suggested retail price of $499 USD.
According to reports, a new PlayStation 5 has been introduced in Australia and will be on sale in Japan and, presumably, the rest of the world next month. While we are unsure whether Sony has begun selling the new PlayStation 5 model in other locations, we do know that the Japanese corporation will begin selling it in Japan on September 15th.
