A lot of new information is now leaked about the upcoming Tales from the Borderlands season 2. When Tales from the Borderlands was launched, it changed the direction of the FPS series by allowing players to become immersed in a narrative-driven game where they could select their own route. A limited number of elements for the forthcoming Tales from the Borderlands have just lately surfaced, hinting at the existence of a sequel.

It’s the age-rating organization that has revealed a lot of information, as it has so many times before. This time, the adventure has been given an age rating by IMDA Singapore, and as a result, we now know that it will be violent and use a lot of foul language.

We’ve provided the complete age-rating result for you to read below the image because the information is so extensive it’s on the verge of being a spoiler. If you’d prefer to wait for a formal presentation, it’s probably not too far away since age-ratings are typically determined not long before the release. It’s likely to air the following week during Gamescom.

Tales from the Borderlands season 2: What’s new?

There will be options for players to choose what happens in-game, similar to the first Tales From the Borderlands. Although the data about the playable characters reveal a fresh cast, the scenario will still be on Pandora, the original planet where the games all take place. Players will have the option of choosing between Fran, who runs a frozen yogurt store, or Anu, a scientist, in instead of Rhys or Fiona. Although nothing has been confirmed, Octavio, the brother of Anu, could be the third character.

A new crew and an M18 rating for strong violence and gore are included in the Tales from the Borderlands season 2. These ratings are indicated by the example encounters given, which include shooting, maiming, and an attempted head reattachment to a corpse. Choices the player makes will have an impact on the character they are controlling at that time and may even be deadly, requiring them to resurrect at the previous checkpoint and start over. Given the game’s violent content, the M rating will be required; Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is the sole T-rated title in the series.

The Tales from the Borderlands season 2 also differs from the first season in numerous brand-new ways. Given that Telltale Games closed its doors in 2018, Gearbox will oversee the game’s creation. The number of fighting situations and fatalities is also increased from the original, and according to the enlarged classification information, there are a number of murderous scenarios, one of which involves freezing a victim and smashing their body into pieces.

Although cryo-based weapons have previously appeared in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Borderlands 3, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands as frost weapons, elemental damage as a concept is not new to the franchise.

Hopefully the humor will permeate the bloodshed in the sequel even though Handsome Jack and all of his antics may not be a part of the story. A mishap that comes to mind is the eyeball scooping mishap from the first Tales from the Borderlands.

Tales from the Borderlands season 2 is scheduled for release later in 2022. If you are a fan of the series, you might like our Borderlands 3 Mayhem 11 legendary weapons tier list!
