If you are wondering how to get Silcoon or Cascoon in Pokemon Go, you are not alone. We decided to create a guide on Wurmple evolution because a lot of players have been trying to figure it out! The problem is there’s no easy way or trick to get Silcoon or Cascoon in the game. But how? Let’s explain everything below.

How to get Silcoon or Cascoon in Pokemon GO?

Those who want to finish the Bug Out! challenge in Pokemon Go by evolving Wurmple into Silcoon or Cascoon. The issue with Collection Challenge is that you have no influence over the cocoon the worm transforms into.

The personality rating of Wurmple—an intangible factor that you can’t even verify in-game—determines whether it evolves into Cascoon or Silcoon in the mainline Pokémon games. However, Wurmple’s evolution in Pokemon Go is entirely arbitrary, so you’ll just need to keep evolving new Wurmples until you reach the desired evolution.

Thankfully, it only takes 12 Wurmple Candy for Wurmple to evolve, so if you’re catching a ton of Pokémon during an event (like the Pokémon Go Bug Out 2022 event, which is currently underway), you’ll have plenty of extra candy to try your luck. Throw a Pinap Berry if you need more candy to double your Wurmple Candy haul.

Once you have Silcoon, you can evolve it into Beautifly by feeding it 50 Wurmple Candy. If you obtain Cascoon, you can evolve it into Dustox by feeding it 50 Wurmple Candy.

Given that, it makes sense that Wurmple’s evolution algorithm in Pokémon Go is equally arbitrary, even if it occasionally produces a sad unfortunate streak.

Wurmple evolution

You will require 12 Wurmple Candy in order to evolve Wurmple. There is no way to control or predict which evolution you’ll obtain when you evolve Wurmple; your bug companion has a 50% chance of evolving into Silcoon and a 50% chance of evolving into Cascoon.

Since neither evolution is extremely rare and the evolution fee isn’t too high, hopefully you can keep evolving Wurmple until you obtain both variants.
