The sixth major update to the iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems, iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 is out. Let’s review the new features, compatible devices and more. Two months have passed since the release of iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 before iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6.
How to get the iOS 15.6 update?
The iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 updates are available for free download in the Settings app, and the software is already installed on all compatible devices. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to access the latest software.
A small number of new features and bug fixes are included in iOS 15.6 as Apple completes work on the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems.
The update fixes a problem that might lead the Settings app to continue to show that the device storage is full even when it isn’t by adding the ability to resume, pause, rewind, and fast-forward a live sports game that is currently being played.

In addition to iOS 15.6, Apple is also releasing tvOS 15.6, macOS 12.5, iPadOS 15.6, and watchOS 8.7, however it’s not obvious what changes these operating systems bring.
The company began previewing iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16 in June. Since these new operating systems are scheduled to go on sale later this fall and are currently being tested by the general public, they are the subject of much attention.
Features for continuity are being added by Apple to all of these systems. New multitasking features are included in iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura, watchOS 9, and watchOS 9, whereas tvOS 16 was almost completely overlooked by Apple.
Which iPhones are compatible with iOS 15.6?
You’re set if your device is running iOS 14. Impressively, Apple has made sure that every iPhone that can run iOS 14 can also run iOS 15. Achieving it across every device introduced in the last six years is quite the accomplishment. In other words, every iPhone starting with the iPhone 6s and including all three iPhone SE versions. By the way, iOS 16, which is for iPhones starting with the iPhone 8, won’t be compatible with this.
If you have an iPad Pro, an iPad Air from the iPad Air 2, an iPad mini 4 or later, or an iPad of the fifth generation or later, you’re set to go with iPadOS 15.6.
Since Apple is now concentrating on the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 updates that are scheduled to debut this fall, it’s probable that iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 will be some of the final updates to the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems. Did you know that iPhone PiP mode can now be used on Youtube?
