Apple Freeform was revealed at WWDC 2022. Apple recently introduced an all-new software program called Freeform for collaboration on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Apple Freeform features
The Freeform app for iPad offers a wide-open digital canvas to work together in real time using FaceTime, with full Apple Pencil support. Users can add images, notes, scribbles, papers, web links, PDFs, and more while others’ contributions are visible as they create or modify content.
Collaborators can start a session on FaceTime and view updates from other users in a Messages thread right away. Later this year, Freeform will be released for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura.

Apple Freeform release date
Apple just said that Freeform would be available on iPadOS in a future update, without providing a specific date. The fall is when both iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 are expected to be released, but if Freeform is included in the initial rollout or as a separate upgrade, it’s uncertain.
