Do you know the Apple search engine name? Currently, it is called Spotlight and it can be the star of the WWDC 2022. We have recently covered WWDC 2022 rumors and it seems like there’s one more addition to them. The Siri-focused Apple search engine could supplant Google as the default search platform across all Apple devices. Although the consumer electronics powerhouse rakes in a sizable amount of money to make Google the default search engine for its devices, that may soon change. Apple is expected to announce a new search engine competitor at its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The event will take place between June 6th and 10th, and it will be a mostly digital event for the third year in a row.
The American blogger, technical evangelist, and author Robert Scoble offered a number of hints on what to expect from Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is set to begin on June 6th. “A bunch of things but specific to search”, he said adding “and a new search engine is coming too.”
Robert Scoble posted a tweet, “Oh, and a new search engine is coming too. Will Siri finally get “smart?” Hmmm.”
Apple's WWDC will be the first of three different events that Apple is preparing for the next year introducing the world to augmented reality (a new form that we haven't seen yet).

This message was interpreted as a hint by Robert, who is much more interested in what AR has in store for Apple. Maybe it’s time to get some Apple Glasses?
Apple search engine and SIRI
Over the years, Apple has been gradually incorporating web search into its repertoire. In 2014, we saw signs of an Apple Spider – Applebot. Then in 2015 AppleBot sightings and Apple listed their own search ranking factors and AppleBot user agent details.
The big question is, what does this mean? Will it just mean Siri will get better at answering questions with the Apple search engine or will Apple be crawling and indexing the web in a bigger way? Then, do you think Apple search engine can compete with Google or Microsoft Bing and if so, will it be able to take away share from Google?
As stated in an earlier news story, Google paid Apple $15 billion in 2021 to become the default search engine on Safari. How will this work out legally?
Apart from Apple search engine, what else will be announced at WWDC 2022?
In addition to teasing the future of AR with the Siri-linked search engine, Apple should unveil new operating system for all of its devices. These include iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16. During WWDC week, Apple engineers and designers will be on-site at Digital Lounges to facilitate technical discussions, give answers to questions, and network with the community. Apple WWDC 2022 will be held online again this year, but a select group of lucky individuals was chosen to attend a unique day at Apple Park on June 6 for a tour and to view the keynote live in person.
Apple is well-known for taking risks and experimenting with new products that drastically transform the market and change the customer experience. One of Apple’s most contentious (but unverified) projects is a prospective new Apple search engine platform with the potential to upset Google’s dominance in the industry.
Currently, Google is the most popular search engine. The bulk of the search engine’s income comes from advertising, which is why other tech giants like Apple are striving to enter the market and seek for possibilities for similar expansion. If you ask me, Apple search engine should have actualized before Maps.
Aside from the fact that it will be held online in 2022, this year’s WWDC has the tagline “Call To Code,” as another internet-only conference is called for due to COVID-19 pandemic despite improvements, as was the case with previous two events in 2020 and 2021.
What is Apple search engine name?
Currently, it is called Spotlight. In addition to basic web image search results, web images search results have improved. Because searches go directly through Google Search without using its engine, Apple’s Spotlight is expected to steal market share from Google Search.
