Skeleton Crew Star Wars, a new Disney+ series starring Jude Law, has been unveiled, and we covered all we know about the upcoming series and other Disney projects.
Skeleton Crew Star Wars will premiere in 2023
Revealed in the Star Wars celebrations, Skeleton Crew Star Wars is a new series from Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Jon Watts and Christopher Ford. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will produce the series.
What is Skeleton Crew Star Wars?
The new series will follow a group of 10-year-old kids from a tiny planet who get lost in that galaxy far, far away and must try to return home. The tale will be set after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and will fall within the timeline of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. There has been some news on the then-untitled Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which had a working title of Grammar Rodeo. It was also referred to as an “astronomical version” of old Amblin coming-of-age adventure films from the ’80s.
At the Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm unveiled a number of updates for the Star Wars universe, including but not limited to the release date and first trailer for Andor Star Wars, the official Willow teaser trailer, Indiana Jones 5’s first image, and confirmation that The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka’s premiere will be in 2023.
Willow teaser trailer
Willow is a fantasy adventure series based on the 1988 film. The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to reunite the realms, who worked together to destroy a tyrannical queen and banish dark forces. In a mystical realm where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other supernatural beings abound, the journey continues as an odd band of heroes set out on a perilous mission to distant locations where they must face their inner demons before saving their world.
Warwick Davis reprises his role as the title character, Willow, and Joanne Whalley will return as Sorsha. Ruby Cruz plays Kit Sorsha, Erin Kellyman plays Jade – Kit’s best friend who grew up in the castle as an orphan trying to become a knight, and Ellie Bamber plays Dove – a kitchen maid in love with Kit’s brother. Warwick Davis’ real-life daughter Annabelle will star as Willow’s kid.
The first trailer for Andor Star Wars
The Andors are a new perspective on the Star Wars world, telling the story of Cassian Andor’s quest to make a difference. The series focuses on how individuals and planets got involved in the rising resistance against the Empire. It’s an age filled with peril, deception, and intrigue, during which Cassian will set out on his destiny-written path to becoming a rebel hero.
The upcoming series stars Diego Luna (as Cassian Andor), Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. Star Wars: Andor began streaming on Disney+ on August 31, 2022.
The first image from Indiana Jones 5
Indiana Jones 5’s first image has been unveiled, and it features Harrison Ford reprising his role as the titular hero once more. During a panel at the Star Wars Celebration, Ford revealed that filming on the movie is about to come to an end, and he was “very proud of the movie that we made.”
After being announced in 2016, the film lost Steven Spielberg as director and was replaced by Logan director James Mangold. Aside from Harrison Ford, who is expected to return for his final performance as Indiana Jones, the film will feature Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen in the cast. We still don’t even have a title or any footage from the film, which is scheduled to return to its roots and be released on June 30, 2023.
