Batman HBO Max release date revealed. After its successful theatrical run for an exclusive 45 days, The Batman is hitting the HBO Max streaming service on April 18th. Directed by 10 Cloverfield Lane and Planet of the Apes’ Matt Reeves, Caped Crusader’s movie opened in theaters on March 4th and made more than $700 million at the worldwide box office so far.
Originally slated for last June and suffering delays, the new Batman movie is led by Robert Pattinson as The Batman while featuring Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler. Colin Farrell plays The Penguin, the role he’ll return for an upcoming HBO Max series.
The conclusion of the movie leaves off on a strong note, but Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce the sequel. That said, given the enormous popularity of the film and the groundwork for what’s next, we wouldn’t be surprised if The Batman 2 would be announced soon.
Until then you may want to check out the upcoming Gotham Knights game to assuage some of your Batman thirsts.
Batman HBO Max release date
In 2021, Warner Bros.’s movies were released simultaneously on HBO Max on the same day as in theaters, including the high profile Wonder Woman 1984. Theatres got upset over this, and a compromise was reached in 2022, giving theatres 45 days of exclusivity.
All HBO Max subscribers can watch the film on their screens on April 18th. It’ll be available on all tiers in regions where the streaming service is supported, while the HBO subscribers have to wait another five days until April 23rd, 8 PM ET.
