Elon Musk Twitter board join will not happen. The popular social media company announced on Sunday, less than a week after the billionaire Tesla CEO said he was offered a place on the social media network and is its largest shareholder.
Elon Musk Twitter board decision: Musk will not join the Twitter board
On Saturday, Musk’s appointment was expected to be finalized, but Parag Agrawal, the CEO of Twitter, tweeted late Sunday that he would not join.
Elon has decided not to join our board. I sent a brief note to the company, sharing with you all here. pic.twitter.com/lfrXACavvk

Parag Agrawal did not clarify if Musk offered a reason for the reversal. He also said that the board appointment was subject to a thorough background check and a formal acceptance by Musk. “I believe this is for the best,” Agrawal’s tweet said, and continued with:
“We have and will always value input from our shareholders whether they are on our board or not. Elon is our biggest shareholder and we will remain open to his input.”
“There will be distractions ahead,” he continued, but urged staff to “tune out the noise.”
Elon Musk tweeted an emoji of a face with a hand over its mouth minutes after Agrawal’s revelation. He didn’t respond to a request for comment when asked about it.
Elon Musk criticizes Twitter
Elon Musk is a frequent Twitter user, though he has lately become an even more vocal opponent of the platform. He’s slammed Twitter’s policy on what people may not say on the site, arguing that it has fallen short to “adhere to free speech principles,” and asked whether it should release its algorithm as open source.
Both Elon Musk and Agrawal said they were looking forward to collaborating on the company’s future after Mr. Musk revealed last Monday that he had bought a stake in Twitter and the firm invited him to join the board.
Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!

Following the announcement of Elon Musk’s investment, Twitter shares shot up. Elon had agreed not to increase his stake in the popular social media company to more than 14.9 percent as part of his appointment to the board. After Elon Musk Twitter board decision, he spent much of the day on Twitter. “Is Twitter dying?” he pondered in one tweet, noting that some of the most-followed people rarely tweet.
Most of these “top” accounts tweet rarely and post very little content.

He also floated ideas to get rid of ads for paying subscribers, suggested the company’s San Francisco headquarters be turned into a homeless shelter “since no one shows up anyway,” and asked his followers in a poll, “Delete the w in twitter?”
He also had some odd notions, such as getting rid of advertisements for paying subscribers. He proposed the company’s San Francisco headquarters be turned into a homeless shelter “since no one shows up anyway,” and he encouraged his fans in a poll, “Delete the w from Twitter?”, with only two options being “Yes” and “Of course”.
Did Elon Musk buy Twitter?
Elon Musk, disclosed earlier this week that he has a 9.2% stake in Twitter and added he also joined Twitter’s board of directors. This news from the company on the Twitter edit button comes a day after Mr. Musk held a poll on his Twitter page if his followers wanted an edit button. So the short answer is no, Elon Musk does not own Twitter, even though he is the company’s largest shareholder. Earlier on Tuesday, he tweeted, “Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!” Even though Elon Musk Twitter board decision was negative, it is apparent that he has made an impact, evidenced by the introduction of the edit button.
Even though he seemed eager to take an active part in Twitter’s management, the Elon Musk Twitter board collab is now happening, and it seems like he is critical of the company’s management after buying such a huge part of it.
