You can learn how to use Twitch streaming on Xbox with this article. The company announced last Wednesday that it will restore Twitch streaming integration to the Xbox dashboard for all users of the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Since last October, the function has been in testing.
Microsoft discontinued its Twitch integration in 2017, it had previously offered it on the Xbox One dashboard. In the meantime, gamers who wished to broadcast from their Xbox consoles to Twitch could use the app.
How to use Twitch streaming on Xbox?
Gamers may now use the “capture and share” tab on the Xbox guide to select “live streaming” on an Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One system. You’ll need to link your Twitch account by scanning the QR code with an iOS or Android mobile device or going to the URL on your PC or phone. After you’ve linked your account, you may use the “go live now” button to begin streaming games that have been downloaded to your Xbox.
After that, attach your headset and webcam, then customize your stream title. The options panel also allows gamers to change the volume of their game and voice chat independently. You also have the option to manage the party chat and manually set your resolution and bitrate. If you want to change games during a stream, the console will display a pause screen, and it will automatically update the game you’re currently streaming.
The Xbox highlights that audiences may watch streams on any device on which they have Twitch access. Players who follow you on the Xbox console can opt to be informed when you go live on Twitch. You can enable it by going to the Xbox notifications page and changing your live streaming preferences.
In the blog post announcing the feature, Brenna Duffitt, Software Engineer for Xbox Platform Services stated the following:
“With everything going on in the world, it’s more important than ever that we stay connected with our friends, families, and communities. We’ve heard your feedback and are excited to bring back this fan-favorite feature, re-engineered, and better than ever. Starting today, Xbox and Twitch are teaming up to make live streaming from your Xbox easier than ever. You can now access Twitch directly from the Xbox.”
The re-introduction of Twitch streaming integration follows Microsoft’s decision to shut down its own game streaming service, Mixer. In 2020, Mixer was discontinued, and Microsoft directed users to Facebook Gaming.
Other than Twitch streaming, Microsoft also said it will release additional features soon based on user comments, but didn’t provide further details.
